[GAME] Mirai Sentai Timeranger: Sentinels of Time

Time: August 25th, 1931

It was the dead of night, what time exactly was anybody's guess. Two cars had parked side by side in a small secluded clearing. It was the kind of place that was only known to a few people, only reachable through back roads that werent exactly well known. Only those that memorized the route and it's many twists and turns, a necessary precaution to avoid the cops, could really find their way here. Considering the nature of the goods they were transporting it was a necessity, during this era in time at least. Prohibition was still in full swing after all, though for buyers paying top dollar some were more than happy to take the risk.

"You got the stuff?" one man asked as he emerged from the car.

"Right here." a man from the other said, opening the trunk to reveal his cargo. "You got the cash?" he asked

The first man took a briefcase from the backseat of his car, and momentarily opened it displaying the stacks of money within it. "I assume your other buyer doesnt offer you this much."

"Definatly not, it looks like we got a deal then.." the other man said before a flash of light interrupted them.

Several individuals in white uniforms appeared, on their shoulders was the TCA logo, with TCA badges pinned on their chests, and each of them had a laser pistol aimed at the man holding the briefcase. "Under the authority of the TCA were placing you under arrest!" one of them said, a man in his mid 30s by the looks of it.

The man transporting the moonshine quickly bolted at the sight of this, leaving the man with the briefcase looking rather annoyed. "Dammit, you TCA assholes are always getting in the way of my business. Well not this time!" he said as he took a large syringe filled with nanomachines from his coat and injecting them into himself. "This time I came prepared for your interference." he said with a sly grin as his features began to inhumanly expand, twist and contort until all that was standing before them was a barely human monstrosity whose only resemblance to it's former self was the fact that it walked on two legs. The Chronomutation dashed toward the officers, binding them with it's tentacle like growths before subjecting them to lethal amounts of electricity before dropping them onto the ground. He took a can of gasoline and poured it over the bodies as he returned to his human form and lit up a cigarette. "No one gets in the way of my business, not even you bastards." he said taking a puff of the cigarette and flicking it onto the gasoline drenched bodies. That night there would be a strange unexplained fire seen visible from some areas...

Time: Present day

By now most people in Ouranos City were fast asleep after a long day's work. Alexander Kross was no exception, though he hadnt been dispatched on any missions that day the other odd jobs he been roped into that day still managed to take a toll on him and he had been hoping to get a nice and peaceful night's rest, a hope that was soon shattered when Chrono Changer's alarm suddenly woke him up. "What the hell chief? Its the middle of the night?" Alexander said groggily as he looked at the small hologram projected from the chrono changer, it was Coleman Lennox, effectively the leader of the TCA and practically the only person the Timeranger unit reported to.

"We have a situation on our hands, the chronal signatures of several officers dispatched to the past suddenly vanished. We arent sure of the reason but we are suspecting worst. I need you and your team to report and investigate immidiately." Chief Lennox told him

Alexander's expression turned from annoyed to serious as he heard this. "Alright be right there." Alexander said before ending the communication and getting dressed. Normally people who went to the past didnt just up and vanish, it would take some seriously messed up equipment to lose track of someone, or death and Alexander knew the TCA had well maintained equipment. And no ordinary criminal could wipe out highly trained TCA officers either.

Quickly he dashed out the door of his apartment, down the stairs and to his motorcycle in the parking garage before zooming off to TCA Headquarters to meet up with the others and gather any relevant information on the situation.

Akiza was also asleep in her house at this time of night, wearing red sleepwear as she slept on her side. This peaceful sleep was interuppted by her Chrono Changer Alarm, which caused her to bolt straight up in bed, though her response sounded rather groggy. "Hrmm, yess?" She knew she wasn't really dressed to speak to the hologram of her leader, but it was kind of his fault for calling her when she was asleep anyway.

"Officer Akiza, we have a situation at the moment. Officers dispatched to the past have had their chrono signatures disappeared. The rest of the team is being gathered, so come to HQ to report in and prepare for investigation." This jolted the red haired officer awake. "Got it!" She then quickly splashed some water on her face to wake up better and then got dressed quickly. Soon, she was out of her house and in her car, heading for TCA HQ...

Waiting patiently for the results of her half-brother, Derek’s yearly medical evaluation Sita Blackburn stood there for moral support. Though Sita’s shift did not start until later in that afternoon the voluptuous silver-hair officer dressed accordingly to the TCA’s sanction uniform could not hide her shapely posterior sitting in a chair opposite of the doctor’s desk. Not minding receiving attention or playful flirting always taken matters-of-affairs with her brother seriously defied such impulses. “We’ve been waiting here for what seems like hours” Derek groaned moving his wheelchair back, “They can send me the….” His sentence was cut off by Sita’s firm grasp on his shoulder.

“Take it easy now there little brother.” Sita’s way of catching his attention completely whenever Derek was ready to give up so easily, “I do not find this waiting game anymore amusing than you, but don’t you think we should give him at least couple more minutes? I promise if he doesn’t come by that point we’ll go and ask the receptionist to have him call us at a later time.” It was seemly impossible with the only family he had left nodded in an agreement to terms. Terms that unfortunately Sita held no control over as her mobile device started going off with a block registered number.

Holding the mobile device tightly as if applying more pressure it would crack came face-to-face with her brother’s reversal of her patented stare. “Take it easy now there big sister. I do not find this waiting game anymore amusing than you, but if duty calls you must not ignore it. Am I right?” Sita chuckle softly leaning to kiss the top of his head for that little banter knowing he would wait for his test results alone just fine. There was no time nor does much need to call TAC know there was a situation that required her and the others on the case.

Christopher would hear his Chrono Changer going off, but instead of waking up instantly he would begin to roll around in his bed until he fell onto the ground. Chris knew this would cause problems with the people below him, but he would soon answer his Chrono changer. Chris would sigh before speaking," Hello? This is Whitefield." Coleman Lennox would then speak," Agent Whitefield, glad to see you're awake. Now officers we've sent into the past have had their chrono signatures disappear. We're going to need you to rendezvous with the other Timerangers." Chris would doze off, but would nod and speak up," Don't worry sir, I'll be there shortly."

Chris would pour himself a cup of coffee, as he always had some in the pot before heading out to the parking garage. Chris knew before purchasing a car to not get anything super new or fancy, and so Chris had a basic but reliable car. After getting in and taking a nice drink of his cold coffee, Chris would get the caffeine rush, and head out towards TCA headquarters.

Shou lets out a deep yawn, he was never a morning person, and although joining TCA was the dream of a life time, it had him waking up at the crack of dawn. Doing what you'd ask? Paper work, lots and lots of paper work. It was very rare that they'd be deployed on the field these days, and keeping track of temporal crimes was no easy task, you have to keep into account various time paradoxes and alterations done to the time stream in order to correct it.

Shou stretches back on his chair, letting his tired hand rest for a minute, he was balancing a pencil in his hand when he suddenly heard the chrono changer alarm "Yes! IT's a bout time!" He says, he made a mad dash towards the meeting area, he came in seeing most of his teammates had gathered already "Yo! Sorry I'm late..." He says

The travel back towards TCA headquarters Sita found questioning a little the seriousness of the situation. Side the occasional various time paradoxes and alterations within the time stream needing TAC making the necessary decisions which officers best suited to handle such matters things have been somewhat on the quiet side. Like her younger half-brother stated Sita could not simply choose to ignore it due to the consequences that it might plague throughout the time stream past and present. Thankfully the hospital wasn’t too far from headquarters time had not been so long simply sticking to the lesser streets during rush hour.

Another relief that by following that travel course was not late making into the meeting room for their debriefing stood behind Shou. Noting the circles around his eyes had been poor officer stuck this time doing the paper work. “You’re not late,” Sita chuckled softly tapping his left shoulder to gain his attention for a moment to get him more alert that he was standing in the threshold of the room blocking the way. “My friend you either seriously need to do bit more sleep management or drink bit of coffee.” Sita replied slipping around to take her seat at the table. “Avoid those energy drinks for they do nothing except make one feel groggier later on.”

The last time paper work fell heavily on her tried few of the newer drink felt like if she had taken one too many drinks did not want him to go through the same thing. Truthfully, Shou didn’t seem like the type of person to drink anything quite so heavy.

Being with the TCA had it's share of perks, one of them being the ability to break every speed limit and run every red light that appeared in case of an emergency, especially useful for Alexander who didnt live all that close to TCA Headquarters. "Morrning, evening, whatever..." Alexander said with a yawn as he entered the briefing room and taking his seat. "So chief whats our situation? From the sounds of it it's pretty bad." Outside the line of duty he tended to be relaxed and more than willing to be sidetracked by various things but when it came down to official business he liked to cut to the chase.

Lennox nodded in agreement with Alexander's sentiment. "Initially this case started with the simple pursuit and capture of this man." he said before gesturing to the projector which displayed a hologram depicting a rather shady looking man in a business suit. "Name: Vincent Lagoon. His crime, smuggling illegal goods from the past to the present era, a crime he has been convicted of before in the past. We had dispatched a team to re-capture him after his breakout from prison but it appeared he was more prepared this time when we lost contact with the officers." he explained. "We believe that he has had himself modified and has gained the ability to become a Chronomutation thus officially bringing it into your jurisdiction. He is currently in the year 1931, disguises are being prepared for you as we speak and the time machine is being prepped. If you feel you need to do any research on the era I suggest you do it now while the preparations are still being made."

Akiza made it to the TCA Headquarters. After saying a quick hello to people she passed by, she made it to the briefing room just as Lennox was starting to explain things. The 1930s? Prohibition...wee... Akiza didn't mind having some alcohol every once in a while, but the alcohol in the future was synthetic, so there was no chance for her to get drunk. Still, she wondered what actual alcohol was like, but she was going back to a time where it was banned...not like she would really drink on the job though. She decided she'd go look up some quick info on the time period real quick so she wouldn't make any mistakes while she was back there.

Shou crossed his arms as he listened to mission briefing intently. Most items from the 19th and 20th century had been lost through time. Finding something like an old vintage ipod that worked fetched for a high price at auction, even more if sold through illegal means. There was a lot of profit to be gained but great risks involved as well. Shou yawned again, he closed his eyes deciding to get a few moments rest before the big mission.

Chris had gotten to the TCA headquarters with caffeine running through his veins, and with a good amount of rest allowed Chris to give all his attention to Lennox. Chris had listened into all the details about Vincent, but all Chris saw was no one special. This Lagoon thug was nothing more then a normal crook with a chronomutation, but that only made him a tad bit special compared to others in his field.

Chris then took out his personal terminal, and opened up his list of disguises, followed by scrolling to the nineteen thirties," Well lets see what we have here...ahah I got it!" Chris would say loudly, and then in a proud voice," I'm going to disguise myself as a poor father who is struggling to make end's meat, because during the thirties was the great depression!" Chris smiled and hadn't realized he had gotten up from his seat, but quick sat back down from embarrassment.
