<<SUPER SENTAI SERIES>>
CHOUKYU SENTAI RAILRANGER
By: Robert J. Wong
= = = =
Roaring along an invisible track through the Inter-dimensional void of the Multi-Verse was this enormous, charging, demonic-black train, with bones littered everywhere along the hull. Weapon platforms were placed on several key points on the sides, top and front, which there was a large red skull with glowing orange-hell like eyes.
All the purple, flowing energy streams and stars illuminated the Inter-dimensional tunnel through the universes while the Doomtrain continued on its course towards one specific glowing, blue and green, Star-Point. Suddenly it appeared to pick up speed as it charged at it, and then crashed on through with a bright, red and yellow flash. As it disappeared, all that was left was this faint, white light flickering in the void of the Multi-Verse.
= = = =
The Doomtrain raged onward through normal space, but now everything was going by so fast it the stars were streaks of light, the planets distorted and fragmenting. This was hyper-space, and the only thing that stayed the same was the Doomtrain. Not even the interstellar strain of the cosmos being stretched did anything towards the demonic-locomotive as it came towards a blue, green and white planet…Earth.
In the very last car of the Doomtrain sat Malick in the darkness upon a large, black chair fit for an emperor. The ends at the top of the throne were two demonic, Werehound heads snarling, facing towards the two, large, cold, black steel doors. Ancient inscriptions etched upon them, describing an ongoing journey throughout the ages. Malick sat under one single white light that appeared dimmed over him, merely outlining the coal colored, sharp armor, with its own etchings as well over it all. Although he appeared to be fully armored, most of it was really his flesh, rock solid and in a charred color. His face hidden away from view by the tinted blue faceplate, which comes down from the curve of the barbarian-esque helmet, two horns arc up on either side, while another curves downward in the front.
Everything else is dark, peaceful. Except for the rumbling of the train against the cosmic track in which it rides towards its destination.
Slowly, Malick lifts his gaze up towards the doors where two figures in black robes appear, the hoods covering their heads, shadows masking their faces. They seemed to hover upon the navy, carpet flooring as they approached the throne, hands gripped onto their forearms but hidden under the long, sleeves of the cloaks. There was an eeriness could be felt coming off of them, even Malick could sense it a mile away.
“You’re early,” with that Malick rose up and stepped down towards the two cloaked beings, and glanced at each of them.
They merely bowed in respect then stood straight once again. The being on the right pulled out a black ticket with purple accents.
“Hmph….”

TRACK 1: “When in Danger…CHANGE TRACK!!”
= = = =
Meanwhile on earth in a large, round, steel room. With this Train emblem engraved upon four squares in four key points. Were two black-suited figures, with tight-fitting, round helmets that have a cool, sleek black visor- battled it out with different styles. The Fighter wearing a silver, metallic belt, with a train-track design upon it fought in a Kick-Boxing style. While the other used more of a Tae-kwan-do style and some Kung-Fu mixed in there. A black, metallic belt with red trim lining rested around that Fighter’s waist.
The Silver belted one came in fast, but every blow that was thrown was either blocked, deflected, or missed as the Black belted Fighter moved about the room in a fluid motion. Slowly taking an open, but still a defensive pose, the Black belted combatant gestured for the other to come over. Breathing heavily and pacing back and forth as the Silver belted Fighter weighed his situation, then took an offensive stance before dashing full speed towards the defensive opponent.
Quickly moving out of the way, the Black belt spun around and side-kicked the Silver belted warrior from behind, knocking him through the air. “Agggghhh…!” he exclaimed as he smashed into this protective, red, yellow and blue net, made of energy then rolled to the floor where he stayed for the moment. Slowly though he rose up to his hands and knees then lifted his body. Exhausted and sore all over he unlatched the locks on the helmet before removing it, revealing a young, Japanese man in his early twenties. Still breathing heavy and soaked with sweat, his dark red spiked bangs came over his eyes while trying to regain what breath he could.
“You over exerted yourself again, Dai-kun,” replied the black belted Warrior in a feminine voice. Soon she too removed her helmet, allowing her long, dark hair to flow down past her shoulders. She was a beautiful woman, about twenty-nine, but didn’t look more then twenty-five.
“I’m just… out of shape, that’s all… five more miles a day should help, Rei-san,” replied the exhausted young man as he shuffled over to the wall and leaned against it with one arm, holding the helmet in the other. Suddenly a small, round view-screen appeared showing a replay of the match to him. On the sides were stats on speed, agility, stamina: all the works on all human performance. Daisuke glared at his performance as it replayed before his eyes.
“You’re pushing it Daisuke, you’re already at 30 miles day. You can’t ware yourself out like that.”
“I can take it,” he stated clenching his hand tight into a fist, “Rei-san…”
Worried about his physical condition for a long time since that day he came to stay with her, she shook her head as she walked towards the Train Emblem behind her then placed her ungloved hand upon the center. A bright, warm, orange glow emitted from it and soon that section of the wall faded into a two, dark gray metal doors which slid open with a ‘whoosh’. Rei then walked onward into a large, white room that had several pillars with glowing, square rings around them. Each a different color, ranging from red, blue, yellow, pink and black.
In the center was a around sectional, orange couch, with four small staircases leading down into the round sitting area. Everything was illuminated brightly too with Florissant lamps up above. Towards the far let were multiple glass doors, but with metallic guard-railings as if it were to lead people out in single file lines. Just a few feet before that was a blue and silver Ticket booth that seemed to be empty and lifeless, as you couldn’t see anything but blackness from the window.
Up above was another floor, sectioned off in four quadrants, Quarters, Lab, Cafeteria, and finally Rei’s Office. In the Quarters quadrant the hallways had plants being hung or positioned on the shelves to give it more of a home-like feel. Near the back were the bathrooms, changing areas and Weapons locker just in case of emergencies.
Rei walked into the changing room still thinking about Daisuke, hoping he’d at least slow down and relax. She leaned up against the wall, taking a deep breath then tossed her gloves and belt onto a nearby bench, where her helmet laid. Crossing her arms, she then reached up and place one hand upon her forehead rubbing her forehead gently to relieve the frustration she felt building from all these years of worrying, “Dai-kun….”
= = = =
A few hours later Daisuke wondered out of the Changing room, hair spiked at the front but still a little wet from the shower, but he was now in his normal attire of a white T, black kakis. As he wondered over towards the lounge circle, Daisuke’s black and red sneakers squeaked upon the shiny tiles, then thudded as he stepped down the small staircase taking a seat across from Rei. Who was now in a Navy blouse, and a knee-high, black skirt and a pair of opened-toe, shiny black heels. Rei was typing away on her laptop upon her lap but sometimes glanced up at him as he pressed a button on the side of the armrest, bringing this small, three foot high, pedestal up from the center of the lounge. Soon this holo-image appeared with two swordsmen getting ready to spar off. It was he’s favorite video game, KENDO.
Rei couldn’t help but grin as a memory resurfaced, when she used to watch him play it during his visits when he was younger. Closing her laptop, Rei placed it to her side and then stood up and called out towards the cafeteria, “Naomi-chan?!”
“Hai…!” returned another feminine voice, but Naomi’s had a tone to it, as though she was bothered.
“Did you find those data charts I asked for?”
“Hai…! They’re on your desk!” she called back then silence.
“Arigatou!” replied Rei as she headed out of the lounge and up towards the elevators on the right side of the room. They were designed like the old, fifties elevator doors with magical, golden outline. But when the doors slid open it was a whole new world inside. All around were thin, light tubes, but bright enough just to illuminate the small space, but not too much. Rei then stepped into the lift and the doors whooshed closed behind her with a chime to finish it off.
The doors opened once more catching Daisuke’s attention this time, as well as distracting him from the game before him.
Stepping out of the lift was a young woman, about twenty-two with light brown hair, in a pony tail that was placed over her right shoulder. Upon her eyes was a pair of sleek, black frame-glasses that brought out her gorgeous green eyes. Looking about the place for a moment she walked over towards some of the computer terminals at the back of the room, then took a seat. Daisuke kept on glancing at her from time to time, but that too became often, nearly costing him in the game as he struggled to retake the fight. Then his gaze came back over to her, noticing home much her pink, turtle neck hugged her slender but heart breaking figure. Slowly his eyes went down to the rest of her body, seeing as how her faded jeans were tight hugging too, Daisuke hoped to get a nice glance at her behind.
“Daisuke, what are you looking at?”
“Huh?!” he gasped turning away quickly and focusing back on the game, “Nothing.” Shifting his eyes back and forth hoping she’d believe him and look away giving another opportunity to check her out. After a few minutes he did get another chance to check.
“You know if you keep staring it’s going to ruin your eye sight,” she said in an annoyed tone causing Daisuke to jump back to the game once more…only to witness his game character being slashed up from between the legs, and “Game Over” flashing. Sitting there in shock thinking how he didn’t want to know how that felt like, Daisuke then felt a hand tap him on the shoulder.
Rei then said to him, “Maybe you want to try a cold shower.” Then she walked off humming and looking through the file folders.
“Y-yeah…” he muttered out.

Malick wandered among the corridors of each car as he mad his way up towards the Engine compartment, or what it was actually called the “Skull’s Heart.” Everything in the corridors was dark, brooding. Full of twisted bars of metal, ancient emblems, etchings and what not as Malick came into the Skull’s Heart everything seems to be bigger on the inside. It was a second throne room, but with old lever controls, a coal driven Furnas.
Standing at the Furnas shoveling in coal is a stout being, with a large, blue, leather coat, buttoned all the way up and a this metallic, grey, conductors hat. Malick tapped his foot against the deck platting causing the stout fellow to jump, dropping the shovel. The creatures face was all white like one of those mannequins but his eyes were alive and dark green, while a mustache lined across his upper lip, curving up at the tips.
“Are we at the gates yet?” asked Malick in a commanding, raspy voice.
“Yes we are Lord Malick, we’re right on schedule,” replied the stout conductor checking the three watches mounted onto his metal gauntlet, in a squeaky voice.
“Good, I have a monster already for my arrival,” stated the towering leader, as he walked over towards the mirror on the far right wall, “Any news on the points’ whereabouts?”
Suddenly the mirror began to bend, and mold then oozed out onto the floor in this goopy form that slowly began to rise and take the shape of a slender being. Its body was mainly black with chrome armor plating, reflecting whatever light there was in the room. The face upon this being though shrouded by a bladed, and round helmet, was human, with light blue eyes, and navy slashes under his eyes reaching the corners of is mouth, which his lips were the same color too. He had the look of a psychopath. Even Malick was a bit sickened by him as he paced away and then stopped near the doors, turning only his head towards the Chrome being.
“Well, Silver Spike?”
“Yes…and no…,” Silver Spike replied smiling like a lunatic, “They are on the move…but where, I do not know.”
Stepping closer towards him, Malick growled, disappointed in the news he was given by his subordinate. He rose his fist up and blue electricity erupted from within his grasp, escaping through the small cracks then thrust it back to his side, turning his back to Silver Spike. He knew they were on the right track, but it seemed that things would be getting harder from here on in, if they couldn’t fully pin-point the points of origin.
“Well Malick I’m a Tracker, not an Instant GPS!” exclaimed Silver Spike as he took a seat on one of the near by, black metal chairs and crossed his arms. “These things take time.”
“Yes,” he replied calmly. Then jolted his gaze back to the Subordinate who squirmed a bit as the look somehow began to make his skin crawl, “Time I’m running out of.”
“Lord, my Lord!” cried the conductor as he looked through a scope that came down from the ceiling.
“Yes, Codrats, what is it?”
“We’ve made it through the barrier and are in the Inter-dimensional rhythm, I’ve locked onto the points of origin!” Codrats stated as he started pulling more levers and spinning one of the small wheels, “This detour should take us to them and cut them off.”
“Time…?” said Malick glaring at Silver Spike, “Hmph…”
Silver Spike on the other hand waved it off and turned away while leaning back in the chair only to be sent flying off of it and into the wall, face first! “Kiisama!!” he cursed stumbling to his feet as he formed a silver katana out of his hands.
“Hmph, Spike you sure don’t pay attention to your surroundings,” said a seductive feminine voice coming from the chair as it became to change into a young, attractive woman with dark, purple, shoulder-length hair. Her eyes were heavy in shadow, and her lips were pure black with the corners sprouting lines that curved down, while she wore a skin-tight, red suit, with a gap that showed off her toned stomach. She was obviously well kept in shape.
“Vendra, pleasant surprise, I thought I punched your card out long ago…?” smirked Silver Spike lowering his sword a bit, but still kept it by his side, knowing how tricky she was.
“You two, not now… Silver Spike, tell Ticketazer to take a group of Spikes. I want those points…NOW.”
“Hai!” replied Silver Spike with a bow and then left the car.

Daisuke wandered around Rei’s office looking at all the frames with certificates, diplomas, and other great achievements there were placed along the crimson walls of this, medium sized room. With a single, brown desk at the front, that had a few picture frames, and a laptop upon it along with a few other trinkets. Behind it was a black, leather office chair outlined by the large, arched window that illuminated the room.
He picked up one of the frames upon the desk and stared at it. It was a picture of an older man, with short, black hair wearing a conductor’s uniform. This was Daisuke’s father. The look on his face was obvious that he knew him and missed him so.
“I know…,” said Rei coming in through the open doorway at the back of the room, but Daisuke didn’t move, or look at her. He continued staring at the picture in his hand, “I know what it’s like to grow up without a father, Dai-kun. It isn’t easy.”
“You could say that,” he replied placing the picture down and ran his hand upon the desk, as he gazed upon his father’s possessions.
Resting a hand upon Dai’s shoulder, Rei turned him around but noticed he wouldn’t look her in the eyes. His gaze went away from her altogether as the feeling of loss grew and went deeper and deeper. Rei sighed and then lifted his head gently with her finger, showing him a soft smile. It was nice, and he did enjoy the fact she was trying her best to help him through this. All these years being here, training, aiding her in bringing this place to life wasn’t a waste…just without having a father around, it seemed somewhat empty. Rei knew that he felt that way too, but she always did her best to make him feel wanted, and appreciated in doing something to not only better protect humanity, but to better himself as well.
Suddenly a loud siren began to blaze loudly throughout the whole complex, and the look upon Rei’s face was something Daisuke had never seen, at least not that kind of worried look. Obviously there was a hint of terror in her eyes, and her body was shaking slightly. This was definitely not like her, but before Daisuke could ask what was wrong, she marched on out of the office and headed towards the lift.
“Rei-san nandaeo?” questioned Daisuke as he stepped out of the office, “Oi! Rei-san! Nandaeo!?” Swiftly he dashed after her and made it into the lift before the doors closed.
After the lift opened up Rei dashed towards the Ticket Booth and quickly went inside, switching the lights on, followed by the ticket machine and main computer. It appeared to be a normal ticket booth but the computer had a GPS and other sorts of controls. Quickly a small, red, plastic ticket came out and she grabbed it while leaving the booth and handed it to Daisuke who stood their raising an eyebrow, unsure of what to make of this.
“Naomi!” exclaimed Rei looking around, then suddenly saw Naomi at the computer at the back of the room, “Naomi-chan, turn on the Tracker-Grido.”
“Hai,” she replied never taking her eyes off of the flat, plasma-screen monitor as she quickly typed in the command codes. Then there was a loud humming sound coming from above the lounge area as this metallic cylinder, with several light-points came down and then stopped about six feet from the ground. Suddenly a blue, energy globe formed, representing Earth in some sense; Rei pointed to one square in particular that was faintly blinking yellow. She felt somewhat relieved that it wasn’t blinking red.
“That one, Naomi-chan.”
Soon the square enlarged taking up the globe and revealed an image of a desert terrain, with a derailed, bullet train, caught on fired next to a broken track. There was a gasp, loud enough that it drew both Dai’s and Naomi’s attention. Both of them glanced at one another and they could tell they both were worried, and yet curious as to what was really going on.
“Rei-san, what is it?” he asked stepping up towards her and placing a hand upon her shoulder, but then she turned about ignoring his concern and walked all the way towards the Weapons Locker doors and punched in a code, then inserted a small, white ticket. Both grey, metal doors whooshed open showing a small, white room with several different kinds of weapons, including the prototype pistols. Quickly she grabbed a couple and briskly marched out, taking her ticket with her, then handed them a pistol each as Naomi jogged over.
“The prototype Bulleto Magnum?” inquired Naomi holding the bullet train-esque, red and black pistol. On the back there was a tiny grip to pull, and at the front was a small, golden barrel. The trigger upon the handle wasn’t enclosed by a ring though it was open.
Daisuke eyed it for a bit then practiced his aiming for a second, “Not really my style…but…why do you need these anyways?”
“Hai they are the Bulleto Magnum. And you’ll need these to defend yourselves…along with these. Take one and give the rest to the others,” replied Rei handing them a small, metal box with the round, golden, bullet-train emblem upon it.
“Others?” they spoke in unison.
= = = =
Running out through the glass doors they found themselves in a sub-way with a few benches, but no one was around except them. There was no sign of a train coming either which was odd, at least that’s how Daisuke felt about the situation. Naomi stood a few feet away from the edge and held onto the silver box close to her side, while looking at this rectangular object in her hand. It was black but with silver trim on the side and bottom and top. In the center of the “Railcellular” was all black but with a track impression. At the bottom was a rectangular indent for sliding something small into it. Just above the indent were two, tiny, red, LEDs.
She then spun the track-plate up counter-clockwise revealing a grey panel with several black buttons that had red numbers upon them, along with a few words on several key buttons, such as: “Talk”, “Cancel”, “Send”, “Ok”, and “End”. Quickly Naomi pressed: “9-9-9” then hit “Send”, causing the Railcellular to whistle electronically and the small square-shaped screen blinked with a blue out-line of a bullet-train.
“Nandaeo…?” muttered Daisuke as he listened in on the electronic whistle, curious to know what she did to make it do that. Curiosity made him open up his Railcellular. It looked the same as hers and everything, but wasn’t sure what to press. Then all of the sudden a loud, sheering whistle came from the down in the dark tunnel followed by a bright, white light that filled the arch-way. Without warning this white-shining sub-way train zoomed in and suddenly stopped with a screeching halt, startling the two for a second before the doors slowly slid open. And there was someone there to greet them too, a tall, robotic Conductor. It tilted its smiling, robotic, mannequin-like head to them and spoke.
“Chuu?”
“Riiight…” replied Daisuke as he started to step back a bit in shock and disbelief.
“Yosh, Ikkuzei!” commanded Naomi entering the train.
“Oi! Jotto matte!” exclaimed Daisuke rushing in before the doors closed too.
= = = =
Meanwhile in the desert three survivors stumbled along trying to find out what exactly had occurred. They were all Japanese, but one was a good build with blue robes and a bald head. Another male who stumbled about who was in his late twenties, looked upon the debris in disbelief which soon was replaced by anger to find out who did this. He was well built, wearing a black muscle shirt and faded jeans, with shaggy black, hair. The final one of the three was a young female, in her early twenties dressed in a small, yellow t-shirt, with white shorts and sneakers. Her hair was bleached too at the ends along with being in pig-tails kind of.
“What the hell happened here…?” asked the man in black.
“An unfortunate even from the looks of things I would say,” stated the monk in blue.
“I quit college for this…whhhhyyyy…meeee!?” whined the young girl as she sat dropped down to the sand below and sulked, “And I wanted curry for lunch, frig…!”
“Can it would ya?!” asked the man in black rudely, causing her to pout, but he didn’t want to hear it and began pacing back and forth trying to figure out what to do now. “We should get moving before whatever did this…comes back.”
“Agreed,” replied the young Monk as he helped up the girl gently, “Who knows what evil has done this.”
“Ok…just don’t go only creepy and shit on me, alright?”
“No need to worry about that, anyways… I’m Tsurugi, Yamamoto Tsurugi,” stated the monk holding out his hand.
The man in Black though just raised his eyebrow giving him the ‘yeah, whatever’ look, but then gave it a second thought. Knowing they were the only ones out here probably. Might as well have friends before you’re left out here to die and replied, shaking Tsurugi’s hand, “David…David Kawasaki.”
“I’m Akira desu!” she exclaimed in a joyful voice as she tried to grab their attention. Tsurugi merely chuckled while David crossed his arms and tried to ignore her.
“Oi! Oi!!” shouted Daisuke over the crackling flames causing them all to look over at one of the sand dunes, “Oi! Let’s go!! Over here!!”
“Who are you?!” blurted David unsure of who this person was, and quickly stood before the others.
“The rescue team!!” he called back, and soon Naomi joined him.
“Come on you guys let’s go! We don’t have a lot of time!” she added but then gasped as the three were suddenly surrounded by group of twenty, slender beings in black suits with grey spikes upon their shoulders, boots and gauntlets and face plates that have two, small, blue triangular eyes and an upside-down, pyramid shaped mouth. Twin spike-like horns sprouted out from the forehead.
= = = =
“Oooookay…. Ummm…Rei-san…what now?” asked Daisuke into the Railcellular as both him and Naomi looked on at the group of Spikes.
“They’re Spikes from the Akuma Tribe- Deraler,” she explained.
“Akuma Tribe…?” questioned Naomi in bewilderment as she reached for the Bullet Magnum in her purse.
“Deraler?” added Daisuke as he reached for his too.
“No time to explain, get the Railcellulars to them and henshin!”
”Nandaeo…?” both of them replied in unison unsure of what they should do, especially Daisuke who started to step away.
“Daisuke you need to get them out of there first, Daisuke!” cried Rei-san over the com-link, was what she feared about him having self-doubt overcome him. Hopefully she could break that train of thought with him and get Daisuke to lead the team, “Daisuke you can do this…you don’t have anything to prove to anyone else except yourself. It’s all up to you to lead them, and you can do it, just believe.”
“But…but…what if I fail? What if they get killed because of me?”
“Do you want that to happen Dai-kun!?”
“No…no… Hahh!!” he shouted firing his Bullet Magnum at the group of Spikes, distracting them from the three survivors, “Naomi, get them out of there, go around the back of the debris.”
“Hai,” she replied and darted off to and succeeded in escorting them around as Daisuke kept firing his Magnum. Quickly they all regrouped together and Naomi handed them a Railcellular, but couldn’t find the tickets for them.
“Looking for these?” asked Tsurugi, holding up a blue, plastic ticket while David and Akira held up a black and yellow one, “It’s a long story.”
“Well not too long, we got time,” replied David smirking.
“Tachibana Akira,” stated the girl in yellow with a bow.
“Alright… well, huh?!” gasped Daisuke as he noticed the Spikes rushing up around them. There was no escape now…every exit was blocked off, forcing them to go back to back, “Minna… pick a target, and smash through it!”
“YOKAI!!” they shouted together as they executed the order, punching, throwing and kicking down as many of the grunts as possible using different styles till the dune was clear. Then suddenly Daisuke heard voice inside his head….
“When in Danger…” it said, and repeated over and over. Daisuke closed his eyes and tried to concentrate, but couldn’t understand what it meant. But the voice was awfully familiar to him, it wasn’t Rei though, but who? Suddenly the grunts caught the group’s attention as they made their way back up towards them, this time with spikes in their hands. They weren’t playing around anymore….
“Ahhh!!” cried Akira was nearly was hit by one of the spikes, but Tsurugi moved her out of its way and kicked the grunt back down.
“Daisuke!?” shouted Naomi, as she turned to him. Coming out of the trance, Daisuke slid his red-ticket into the bottom of the Railcellular, flipping the track up and revealing on the inside of the flap the Bullet-train emblem in the center, with the edges outlined in gold. The Key pad was a bit different, gold with white buttons now, and red numbers and different commands. At the top in the center was an oval, red button with black letters spelling out: “CHANGE.”
“Minna… Change Track!” he shouted crossing his arms in front of him with his thumb on the change button.
Quickly the others slid their respective tickets in and their cells flipped open as well with the exact appearance. They took the pose and everyone pressed the red button. Then all at once swung their arms out to the sides shouting: “CHANGE TRACK!!”
A glowing train and track spiraled around each of them in their respected colors causing their bodies to glow as well, then the arches upon their shoulders shot black and silver tracks down the outside of their arms, shoulder blades, sides of their body and down their legs. The tracks upon their arms and legs stopped two inches below the knees and elbows, forming a round track at the top of the gloves and boots that remained white while the rest of the suit flashed into their own color. Upon their chests appeared a black circle with a golden track along the edge and in the center was the emblem of a bullet-train in gold.
Spinning the cover back into place on the Railcellular so that the gold emblem was on the outside, it shot out a gold and black track-belt that latched around their waists. In the front was a rectangular platform with a connector tab at the end to lock the cell into place, and so they did, causing the Bullet Magnum to form, holstered on the right of the belt. Suddenly the helmet came on around their heads, but left a cross shaped opening. Two tracks then slid into place, one covering the narrow line that showed their mouths. Then the narrow gap that revealed their forehead shut as well, followed by a mini-version of the front of their respected trains zoomed down and stopped at the end of the upper-track, locking each visor into place.
Daisuke’s visor was rectangular but curved up a little bit, while David’s was fully rectangular, Tsurugi had a rectangular one too that curved down on the ends. While Akira’s helmet had a beam-shaped visor that was pointed at each end, and finally Naomi’s visor’s shape was more oval shaped.
Each of them struck a combative pose shouting their names!
“Rail Redo!!”
“Rail Blue!!”
“Rail Black!!”
“Rail Yellow!!”
“Rail Pink!!”
Daisuke then took the leader and clenched his right fist before him and shouted, “Choukyu Sentai!!’
Then they all performed the group pose as an explosion of all their colors blazed in the background.
“RAILRENJAH!!!!!”
“Minna, Ikkuzoo! Toh!!” cried Red leaping up into the air and then came crashing down with a earth shaking punch, taking down three of the Spikes! Spinning around he kicked a another one, then hammered away at the rest, throwing kicks when the opportunity presented itself, and never failing to land a single hit!
Blue quickly took an open hand, drunken boxing pose and waited for them to charge, which they did so and too their doom. Tsurugi dodged with precision then quickly blocked and parried away their attacks, then finally floored four of them down using multiple, key hand-techniques.
Black put one into a hold and began kneeing away without breaking a sweat, then suddenly clenched his hands together and slammed the foe down hard. Turning about David threw a few bar-room punches. Then elbowed another back followed by a drop kick, taking the Spike down!
Yellow and Pink battled their way threw a bunch of them, except Akira did more acrobatic movements then Naomi who went in straight ahead with Tae-kwan-do and Karate. Quickly they defeated them and regrouped with the others as they un-holstered their side-arms and took aim as they charged in blindly. They knew they had the Spikes now and quickly fired away with small bursts of spark exiting the barrel, taking the rest of them down in a blaze of explosions!
“RAILRENJAH!!!” they shouted once more taking the group pose!
Suddenly the five Rangers were engulfed by explosions, walls of fire and electricity which sent them back and they tumbled upon the ground. Regaining their footing they looked all around, but couldn’t find who it was who did that. Then another explosion erupted before them, sending them flying back once more! As Daisuke glanced up he saw the flames were growing and shrouded them in a cloud of smoke, and there was no way out from what he could see… just fire and smoke… It might be the end before it begins.

TRACK 2
<<SUPER SENTAI SERIES>>
CHOUKYU SENTAI RAILRANGER
By: Robert J. Wong.
= = = =
Struggling up to their feet, the Railranger looked about for who had attacked. But without warning another blast erupted before them, sending them all back to the ground once again, crying out in pain. The fire quickly intensified all around the five, colored heroes. Forcing them to back up into a small circle while rising up to their feet once more, taking a defensive posture.
“Nandae…?” questioned Redo as he witnessed something off in the distance, moving about, “Minna, look out!!”
Suddenly he threw himself in front of everyone, both arms out stretched in order to try and shield them from harm. Then a large explosion erupted up his entire body, thrashing him violently but there Red stood, taking the full impact of the blast! Black, Blue, Yellow and Pink watched in shock as their leader slowly dropped to his knees and finally fell over revealing what caused that fierce attack. Standing quite a few meters away was this average sized, humanoid, black and green Ticket Machine monster.
“Ore wa, Ticketazer!!” shouted the fiend aiming the center of its chest at the four remaining Rangers now. Quickly a thin, horizontal, square barrel, popped out confusing the Railranger for just a moment as they tried to pick up their fallen leader. Black on the other hand just stood there shaking his head and then un-holstered his sidearm, firing rapidly around the Monster. Hoping it would some how distract it long enough for all five to escape. Unfortunately Ticketazer fired this golden ticket, with swarming blue electricity upon the Rangers, blasting them all back except for David who had rolled to the side and fired again, this time striking the fiend on the top of the head. Sparks blazed, forcing the monster to fall back!
“Ha!!” cried Rail Black, getting up off his knees.
Out of nowhere the Transport-Train came round and protected the five Rangers from another assault. David in dismay, wondering what the hell was going on and who had sent the train, then as the three Rangers came running into the train with Daisuke upon Tsurugi’s back. He was really confused but followed them anyways, hoping to gain some answers… soon.
“Conductron, let’s go!” exclaimed Naomi as she pressed a button on the side of the door, which held a black, glass panel with blinking lights.
“Chuu!” the robot replied aloud and quickly engaged the Train’s engine to jet off away from Ticketaser’s next volley of attacks. Which it swiftly entered this round, yellow glowing portal of light, and vanished with a flash…

TRACK 2: “Burning heart of a leader!”
= = = =
Malick sat upon his throne watching the images of the battle take place before him upon this holo-screen and projected from a round, foggy, glass ball with four snakes wrapped around the base. It was obvious that he was bored as his body language showed. Malick’s body slouched over slightly, and his helmeted head, rested upon the armored knuckles of his hand as he leaned to the right more. Silver Spike and Vendra watched on too from the other end of the room. They too became bored. It was not much of a fight, but one Ranger was down…
“Four more to go, as it appears,” stated Silver Spike arrogantly as he strutted towards the throne, but still keeping a good distance away as Malick didn’t want anyone too close.
“Or he’s only unconscious and you let your arrogance blind you …into believing that this so called “Monster” did in fact take one out for good,” Vendra replied in an unimpressed tone waltzing her way towards the throne as well. But she too kept her distance, even from her so called ally.
Silver Spike shook his head in distaste of her comment, feeling tempted to strike her down, right here and now. He didn’t though. Spike wanted to wait for the go ahead from his master before ever making a move within his presence. The other time in the “Skull’s Heart”, was an exception because of her sudden appearance after infiltrating the Doom Train without being noticed, even by him! It was something of a disgrace to Spike, at least from how his feelings were on the matter. Though making a move now especially in the throne room was not an option, unless a death wish to be fulfilled was what he wanted.
The Master of the Doom Train and of the Akuma Tribe- Deraler, Malick paid no attention to the two as they bickered on. He only continued to watch the battle footage over and over again. ‘There is something…’ Malick thought to himself, rubbing bottom of his face plate where his chin was covered. It seemed to be a feeling more then anything, but uncertain as to why he felt this way the dark lord turned to the bickering Generals.
“Silver Spike, Vendra quit your pointless bickering before I thrash you out the air-lock.”
With that, Malick rose up from his throne and stepped down the small stair case at the foot of the throne itself. Moving towards the two Generals he kept both hands behind his back, armor clanking as plates tapped and clipped against each other while taking each step. His presence commanded silence and above all, obedience.
Both of them quickly quieted down but still kept an eye on each other just in case one decided to make a move. Though highly doubtful, neither could be too sure of the other especially with a colorful history such as theirs. Swiftly moving to the sides to allow Malick his space, Spike bowed to him, while Vendra on the other hand, crossed her arms and just nodded with a grin; which faded as she restated her glare back to the silver armored General.
“Where is Ticketazer?” asked the Dark Lord bringing his hands to his sides finally, with each knuckle plate, crackling as he clenched each hand into a fist while glaring back to each of them.
“I told’im to go out around and have some fun,” replied Silver Spike grinning evilly. “It will drive the points back out…funny they seemed to disappear once those Five showed up.”
“Not funny… more like curious, you shiny hood ornament,” snapped the seductive femme fatale, smiling in a devilish way, while thinking of so many ways to kill Spike, “Now be a good chrome toaster and push off.”
“ENOUGH!!” yelled Malick raising a fist up into the air. Dark blue electricity crackled about all over his armored-gloved fist, causing some sparks to erupt as some bolts nicked the plating of the armor. Their bickering wasn’t helping the situation, in fact he began to feel even more annoyed with them and blasted Silver Spike back against the wall with an electrical charge!
Shocked, Vendra slowly began to back up but then she too was stricken by the hard gush of energy, zapping her into the wall behind. Then her body dropped onto the hard, but yet light carpeted flooring. Malick huffed for a brief second or two then returned back to the throne; there he sat watching the two, smoking bodies rise back up cringing.
“If you want to bicker, do it out of my sight…” stated the Dark Lord sternly, although he appeared relaxed upon the seat.
“Yes…sir…” Spike managed to mutter as he crawled along the ground a bit.
“Hai…Malick-sama…ehh,” added Vendra, stumbling to her feet.
= = = =
“What did you say?!” snapped Naomi in anger and disbelief, “How can you say he isn’t a leader!?”
“Easy, I just did…,” David muttered pacing back-and-forth with his arms crossed in front of him, “A leader doesn’t sacrifice him self no matter what, you should know this. All of you should know this!”
Akira and Tsurugi sat in the lounge area waiting to hear how Daisuke was doing after they rushed him into the medical center inside “The Station.” Both of them hoped that he was alright, even though they only met briefly, they had their reasons. Akira was a gentle, but hyper girl although she cared a lot about people, even the ones she hardly knew. While Tsurugi’s nature was to care for everyone, as he was a Monk after all.
“Do you think he’s gonna die, Tsurugi-san?” asked Akira shyly, as she sat across from him, folding her hands between her knees.
Tsurugi pondered for a moment, trying to figure out how to answer her best. Not wanting to upset her he replied, “No, he’ll be fine. Just watch and see.” But in reality he did not know for certain and was afraid to make her feel worse. There was a gut feeling only and hoping it would be true was all him or anyone could do at the moment while they waited to hear anything from Rei-san.
Akira brought her knees to her chest and slowly wrapped her arms around them, resting her chin upon both kneecaps while she rocked slightly back and forth. The nerves all over her body were on edge, while thinking about what had happened to him, taking that blast for them and still standing for a bit after it faded away. Now the feeling of guilt swept over, filling her up inside with all this pain. Akira now believed that they should have been the ones to take that hit instead of him. It was too late now…
“You bastard, you should have been the one to take that hit! Not him! You think that because he’s the one that sacrificed him self to protect us makes him less of a leader, you should be ashamed! A leader prote-” shouted Naomi but soon she was cut off by David as he got right in her face and snapped back:
“A LEADER… doesn’t take the hit! If he falls the rest fall. A LEADER shows by example, he doesn’t always have the time in a battle situation to give orders. So you have to look out for yourself in the end, and if you can’t-”
“And if you can’t what?” Naomi exclaimed just about ready to slap him into tomorrow, “We have to die because we didn’t react in time?”
“If you can’t watch yourselves, then stay here where it is safe. Stay out of my way. Please… I’d do a lot better without you three dragging me down,” stated David coldly but with a smirk while walking around Naomi as she stood there just about ready to blow.
= = = =
“I really blew it…” said Daisuke; catching Rei-san off guard as she was listening in on what they were yammering about down stairs, over the com-panel on the wall next to the two, solid white, steel doors. Daisuke sat up, with the white, hospital-like bed propped up for him, with an IV in his left arm and bandages covering his chest and one on his forehead. “Didn’t I..?”
Rei kept her back to him for a moment, with a small grin forming upon her lips. Then she turned and walked over to him, still holding that smile. “No, Dai-kun. But why do you think that?”
“Why… can’t you hear what they are arguing about over the speaker? Maybe he’s right. Being a leader isn’t for me, cause if I am injured…” Daisuke started to say but soon he noticed Rei place a hand up to stop him.
“Dai-kun,” she began sitting on the edge of the bed, “Sure sacrificing your self to protect when you know there is another way out of the problem, isn’t the smartest way… but, there are times when you have to act and can’t take the time to think. This is one of those times, wouldn’t you say?”
“I dunno… I just saw something coming at us… and reacted.”
“Well, that happens too Dai-kun, and a leader is suppose to protect their team,” Rei replied smiling and brushing some of his bangs away from his face, “and that you did for certain. Even if David doesn’t seem to appreciate it on the outside, I think he does appreciate the fact that you gave them a chance to react in time to get away.”
Daisuke looked down at the foot of the bed, staring at nothing really, only letting his mind wander and the guilt sink in deep of not finding another way in order of getting out of that situation. He let out a sigh and just leaned his head back against the pillow, staring up towards the ceiling now, not knowing exactly what to say now. Soon he felt a gentle touch on his hand, and placed upon was Rei’s who held it with care and continued to smile, hoping it was cheer his mood up. It did, but a little-it was enough though and for that, he was grateful.
“Arigatou, Rei-san.”
= = = =
All of the sudden the sirens blazed throughout the Station, forcing Naomi and David to discontinue their argument. But everyone downstairs stayed where they were at, unsure of what exactly it was about, except for Naomi who went towards one of the terminals and activated the “Tracker Grid” once again. Quickly one of the squares blinked and enlarged showing a section of Tokyo where a disturbance was about, wreaking havoc all over!
“Ticketo-tazer…ka?” questioned Tsurugi who walked closer towards the giant globe, with Akira shortly coming up behind him, but she then moved around and came closer to the globe, staring at it in amazement.
“What is this...?” she asked innocently poking random squares along the round-globe tracker grid.
“Tracker Grido desu,” stated Naomi. She continued to type away on the console before her trying to pinpoint the exact location.
Then the sound of the lift doors whooshing open caught their attention, with David first in line to greet as it were the one coming out. Rei briskly headed towards Naomi’s station after exiting the lift, ignoring David’s advance too. She didn’t have the time nor wanted to deal with his loud mouth and rubbish point of view.
“Naomi-chan, do you have the location?” Rei asked firmly.
“Hai,” she replied quickly as the location appeared on the screen, and the sirens switched off.
“Thank you for turning off that bloody noise!” David exclaimed glaring at both the women at the computer, then he started to pace back-and-forth again, “I’m gonna go alone, he needs to be dealt with the right way.”
“Jotto Matte, Davido!” exclaimed Rei holding up her hand, “You go as a team, and you lead them… I mean it.”
David just rolled his eyes and crossed his arms once again, walking towards the doors leading out towards the subway track. Not caring at all about what Rei had said to him, and just before he exited the Station, David came to a halt, turned to them and spoke before their mentor was about to utter a word: “Well you guys come’n or what?”
Akira, Tsurugi and Rei all smiled while Naomi reached for her Railcellular, flipped it open and typed in the Transporter Train code for a lift. Quickly taking the lead she pushed past David with the other two shortly coming up behind her. Rail Black on the other hand just shook his head and exited the Station, bringing up the rear.
Watching them go, she had a feeling that this bunch would definitely be very unique…though only if they knew how unique they actually are. Though she wasn’t the only one watching; up in the Medical room, Daisuke laid there staring at the monitor upon the white wall that was covered in panels with blinking buttons and lights. He watched as they boarded the train and left to combat the image of Ticketazer that soon engulfed the screen. Its tickets fired rapidly about striking cars, buildings and people! Everything exploded once its energized, golden pieces of paper latched onto something.
“Kiisama…” he muttered under his breath while his gaze went over to the needle embedded into the nook of his left elbow. Then down to his clenching, red fist while the knuckles faded white. He laid there unable to do anything as he was injured and hooked up by the IV. All he could do was watch, though doubt continued to creep up on him. Not sure whether he could do anything anyways, besides getting in the way of the others. He’d probably get hurt even more the next time and leave the others open to attack, getting everyone else injured as they try and help him. That was something he did not want happen…
= = = =
Suddenly the Transporter train arrived letting the four Rangers who were fully henshined, exit and dash towards the disturbance. Looking out from the train before taking off was the Conductron who waved as they continued running to the battle.
“Chuu…” sighed the robot, then shut the door and pulled away into the dimensional rift.
Black quickly hurried up towards the front of the group and quickly took the lead. Pink shook her head, resisting the urge to knock his block off for being too fool hardy and going in head first. Though that wasn’t the only reason she still wanted to whack him, it would have served the purpose for the time being.
“Come on! Keep up!” he shouted to the others and then sped up even more. Without warning all five were then cut off by an explosion! A wall of fire came at them, and hastily engulfed the Railranger – knocking them several meters back, and on the ground. Blue slowly got up while helping Akira was held her left arm, cringing and groaning in pain. Black and Pink staggered to their feet together, but kept their distance and quickly began looking about all the while trying to ignore the pain they were in took, but Naomi pressed her hand against her side shortly after.
David just shook his head in disappointment but then in the corner of his eye he saw movement. With great swiftness he un-holstered his side arm, and fired towards the direction of the movement. Sparks burst off of the Spike’s body as it fell onto its back. There it stayed.
“These guys again?!” question Rail Black aloud as he continued firing at some of the others who flipped in from out of nowhere, taking them by surprise and surrounding them.
Soon after the Rangers began battling, fending off the Spikes with their own unique styles of fighting. Fairing well in the end too as number dwindled to zero by the end of the battle, leaving only Ticketazer who was nowhere to be seen. Then suddenly four tickets landed all around the group, but it was too late, none of them could react in time, but Black leapt forward and over the blazing explosions that encompassed the other three! David rolled to his feet, watching the three others being sent in different directions from the blasts and knocked down in a flurry of smoke and sparks.
“This is why you need to watch you own backs!” David shouted in aggravation.
“Good advice Renjah! Why don’t you take it for yourself!?” yelled Ticketazer from behind, catching him off guard the monster landed a hard right hook into Black’s helmeted face, knocking him over. But that didn’t stop it from firing a ticket at him shortly after. The blast overcame the Ranger’s defense, sending him tumbling through the air and into a bunch of empty crates and barrels, which broke from the force of his landing.
“Ute!!” shouted Naomi from the other end of the street, grabbing the monsters attention. Its body was then bombarded by several, re-enforced bullets from the Bullet Magnums! Sparks blazed about his mechanical body, as the pinging sound echoed within the sound sensors deep inside. Then an explosion emerged from the mid-section of the being, making Ticketazer tumble back but not enough as it fired another three electrified tickets at them!
“Take this Railrenjah!!” yelled Ticketazer with a growl firing another explosive ticket in their general direction.
With great speed they rolled out of the way as the ticket blasted the ground, and quickly took cover trying to come up with a plan of action. Because now, they were pinned down and David started to regain consciousness from what Akira could tell as he shook his head slightly.
“Minna, Davido-san is waking up!” called Yellow as she placed a hand to semi-cup the mouth piece of her helmet.
“Great…maybe he can be our cannon fodder!” snapped Pink as she leaned away from the edge of the boxes she hid behind as an explosion of sparks erupted. Tsurugi turned around the other corner and fired off a shot only to be pelted by more tickets that set the boxes and barrels on fire!
“We got a problem here…” he muttered but didn’t realize the com-link was on.
“You THINK!?” Naomi snapped though she still tried to think of way around this, but then Ticketazer peppered the area with several electrified tickets, blasting some of the boxes to bits!
= = = =
Rei-san watched on the screen on the console as the four were pinned down and couldn’t seem to get a shot off now. Suddenly the doors to the elevator lift opened upon, the chime startled her for a brief moment but then the sight of seeing Daisuke up and about staggering towards the exit put her into a moment of shock.
Getting up she ran over to help him as he was about to fall over from the agonizing pain still in his body.
“Mou…Dai-kun, you should be in bed, you can’t do much in this condition,” Rei said helping him stand but he shrugged her off and continued towards the doorway.
“I don’t care!” he snapped. “They are my…team… and I have to do something to get them out of this mess!” Cringing all the way there he collapsed along the railing but slowly, lifting himself up once more, ignoring the pulling of the stitches upon his chest he pulled out his red ticket. But there was no Railcellular with him.
“Later you better tell me what brought this on,” she said to him sternly while coming up form behind with her arms crossed in front of her. But deep down she was glad he was taking the initiative once more, but still feared that he’d do more damage to himself because of the condition he was in. Although Rei knew that he could be stubborn when he made up mind… she just hadn’t seen that in a long time.
“You got it…but I think I misplaced….”
Rei then unfolded her arms and held his Railcellular out in to him, “I think you will be needing this.”
Slowly he reached out and took it. “Ariagtou, Rei-san,” with that he slid the ticket into the bottom, flipping the track cover up and pressing the “Change” button at the top.
= = = =
Naomi, Akira and Tsurugi remained pinned by the endless tickets that the monster fired from its chest-mounted cannon, sending nearly everything up in flames! David slowly crawled over towards Tsurugi and dropped onto his side, still feeling it from before. Blue placed his hand on his teammates shoulder, trying to move him away from the edge of the boxes in case a lucky shot landed near him.
His fists clenched tight and the anger rose even higher as he got up to his knees, un-holstered his sidearm then leaped into the air to attack from above!
“Davido! Matte!!” called Rail Blue only for his words to fall on deaf ears as David continued on firing the Bullet Magnum rapidly. It worked for the most part, catching Ticketazer off guard, and allowing the Rangers to fire as well but then a large, golden beam struck in the fecundity sending Black, Blue, Yellow and Pink wailing through the air with sparks blasting about their bodies!
Landing hard upon the ground, the Rangers dared not to move as the pain soared throughout their entire bodies. Akira though looked up and managed to open her eyes slightly behind the helmet, even though the shock and burning sensation throughout her nerves forced her to stay on the ground. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing! Three large, black-metallic, bat wings with scorpion tails flew through the skies, firing beams of golden energy down upon the city!
“Nandaeo…?” Naomi muttered, forcing herself to turn over onto her stomach, and struggled to lean up a bit.
The Scorpion stingers flipped back and curled underneath the fighter craft’s wings, firing another volley of golden energy, taking out buildings left and right! It was on a rampage and now they were helpless to do anything about it. In fact what could they have done Naomi wondered, they didn’t have any armament against this! At least not that she knew of.
Over in the distance a red glowing portal opened up and this screaming horn ripped through the air! Followed by a mechanical, self-replicating train track that prelude what was to come. After a moment this large, red, silver and black Bullet Train with the Railranger symbol upon the sides and the Number 1 embedded in gold came rushing out at high-octane speed!
Upon the top of the Train were two large, duel barrel machine-cannons, firing rapidly in the direction of the fighters! Quickly each one was hit and destroyed by the repeating fire from the Bullet Train which quickly picked up speed as it cut across the path of Ticketazer upon the ground, forcing the monster to leap out of the way!
Then slowly it halted next to the Rangers who staggered to their feet and watched in awe. But what was even more shocking was who appeared jumping out of the massive vehicle that towered them. Landing just a few feet away was Rail Red, fully changed into his Ranger form and holding this large saber with a black handle, a narrow red and silver hand guard, which in front was a red-train track design. In the center of the blade, going up to the tip was a thin-red line as well.
Quickly rushing to their side he helped up Naomi and Tsurugi who then helped Akira to her feet. Then looking down he noticed David slowly staggering to his feet, but fell down upon his knees once more. David then looked in disbelief as Daisuke grabbed him by the arm and slowly helped him to his feet.
“A leader looks after his team,” was all he said with a nod then turned towards Ticketazer who ran around to greet them once more. “But this one’s mine… Hah!” With his weapon in hand, holding it out in front horizontally, Red rushed in with incredible speed! Flipping the Saber into his other hand, Daisuke reached for his sidearm, pulling it out he then jumped into the air, taking aim!
“Bulleto Magnum!!” cried Rail Redo firing rapidly as he came down, but just as his feet touched the ground his gun was back in place, while both hands gripped the Saber handle firmly as he came crashing the blade down along Ticketazer’s chest! Sparks erupted sending the fiend off balance! Redo came in hacking from the other angle this time, causing more sparks to blaze, then reached back and slashed along the monster’s gut! Ticketazer cried out in agony as it fell back a few meters away, and stumbled to regain its footing.
“I am goin’ to end this!” he exclaimed clenching the handle tightly within his hands as a red aura began to emit form his body, soon it became a heat wave that encompassed the blade of his weapon. The ground below his white boots began to ripple as the heat wave intensified around him and the sword that started to glow an intense, fire red. Swiftly Rail Redo slashed down diagonally from the right then did so, on the left, forging twin red beams or light. Daisuke slashed upward finally making both beams form into a long, red energy track, holding the monster in place. Unable to move! Holding the saber there he turned it so the front edge, lined up with the track and monster!
“No! Take this Railrenjah!!” Ticketazer shouted firing an electrified ticket at him.
“BURNINGU…BULLETO… -SLASH!!!!!” cried Daisuke bringing the burning saber down which emitted an fiery wave of red energy, forming into a large, burning, bullet train which pierced the ticket like a warm knife through butter! Then as Ticketazer tried to dash away the Bullet Slash rush on through, cutting the mechanical being in half! Soon the attack and light track faded away with Ticketazer’s halves falling in red and gold electricity as Daisuke turned about on his heel, swinging his weapon to his side while taking a heroic pose.
“Ore wa… REIRU REDO DA!!” and with that the monster behind him several feet away, exploded into a blaze of red and orange flames!
= = = =
Later after the battle the Five Rangers wondered back into the Station, with Daisuke in the center still holding his sides as he over did it, as he kept saying to Tsurugi and Akira who kept asking if he was alright.
David didn’t care and just wandered over towards the lounge, taking a seat with his arms crossed, he couldn’t believe that he would come out there still injured like that nearly getting himself killed was the best idea!
Naomi noticed that much but smirked at Black’s disappointment then went over to Daisuke’s side, and messed his hair up grinning, “You are damn lucky not to have pulled anything Daisuke!”
“Heh…we’ll see about that when I look at the wounds again,” he said with a chuckle but then cringed as he felt it tug a bit. He would be alright though.
“Good work, Dai-kun,” said Rei-san who came over towards the group, “But I think you should get back to bed.” Rei chuckled.
“Sounds like a good idea right now,” was all he said in return with a somewhat forced smile as the pain was really starting to get annoying now. Tsurugi and Akira then allowed him to put his arms over their shoulders as they helped him back to the Medical Room, with Akira just a gabbin all the way there.
“Naomi-chan, you ok?” Rei-san questioned quietly to her, so she wouldn’t feel embarrassed about saying anything.
“Hai…,” she replied quietly as well, but tried to hide her smile as she watched them help Daisuke back to bed, “He did a brave thing going out on a limb to save us.”
“Yes he did, he is brave… and stubborn as I remember a long time ago, but most times it’s for the better, but to be honest… I wonder what made him come back to that part of him.”
“Maybe something clicked back, or… well I guess only he’d know.”
“Sou… yosh, I’ll go check up on him, will you prepare dinner?” asked Rei with a gentle smile as she began to walk towards the lift.
“Hai, no problem,” Naomi replied as she left in the other direction.
= = = =
As she walked into the medical room, Rei noticed Daisuke slowly settling back under the covers as Akira propped up his pillow for him and Tsurugi checked on the wounds. Daisuke smiled to Akira, grateful for what she was doing, as she was grateful for him risking his life to protect her and the rest of the team when they needed it.
“Arigatou, Akira.”
“You’re welcome,” she replied cheerfully and then noticed Rei-san standing there with a grin, waiting to see him once they were finished. But Akira gave Tsurugi a look to turn around, and he nodded towards Rei, fully understanding why she was there.
“We’ll be going, but we’ll be back later to check up you. Ok?” said Tsurugi as they both left the room, leaving Rei and Daisuke alone.
“Jotto...,” she said under her quietly as she sat beside the bed on a near by, blue chair.
“Hey,” Daisuke replied with a grin, but then turned his gaze away from her he was somewhat embarrassed. Having his crush on her come back to him in just that moment was unexpected, but he just took it in strides, and breathed normally, turning back to her, “You wanted to know what made me decide to go back out there?”
“Hai, I’m just a bit curious.”
“My father said to me once… a leader… no matter what of, if that person has a burning heart, nothing is impossible,” with that he looked up into her eyes and nodded as she replied, smiling down upon him.
“It’s true.”
