Only for a totally stupid reason. Ace *originally* needed the strengths of a man *and* a woman to support him. By depriving him of Yuko's strength, he very probably reduced his effectiveness. Hopefully, when Tsuburaya gets around to doing a total reboot of Ultraman, using new actors, they'll restore the original relationship ...

It's not even that he needed both. They were both sefless, courageous people who tragically had their lives cut short at the same moment, saving others.

Ace saved them the best he could, making them part of himself.

That's kind of stupid and silly. The original Ultraman is the original Ultraman-no ifs ands or butts about it. He is not Hayato, though he grew attached to him.

Ultraman can exist without Hayato. The two are not the same.

It's the reason why Seven has had many different human forms over the years.

Ultraman isn't the DC or Marvel Universe-they don't do resets every few years and make up new bullshit.
