The Cabin in the Woods Talk up!
So I just went and saw this movie. I know its customary to post a trailer or something along those lines, but I dont want any of you guys to see any media on this movie until you've watched it. DONT EVEN WATCH THE TRAILER!!!
This movie is one of the BEST movies I have ever seen. I say that with no qualms or reservations. It is EASILY in my top 5. Hell probably in my top 3. This is a movie that has to be experienced as QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE.
The movie is directed by Drew Goddard who also Co-Wrote it with Writer/Producer Joss Whedon. I will only give you a BRIEF idea of what the movie is about: 5 teenage kids go to a cabin for a weekend to get away from the world and are attacked by something. Thats the only thing I can say without spoiling anything. And trust me, you do NOT want this movie spoiled for you.
Its one of the best written, best looking, best acted , best paced movies I've seen in god only knows how long. Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard's styles blend perfectly. The cast is some of the most likeable horror movie heroes in a good long while.
And I just checked wikipedia and APPARENTLY Anna Hutchison (Lily/Jungle Fury Yellow) plays the blonde. I didnt realize it until I actually looked it up. Chris Hensworth (Thor) brings his fantastic acting chops to this as well, as well as 3 other actors who I had never seen before but WILL be looking for again in other movies.
The dialogue is your standard Joss Whedon fair, which automatically makes it miles ahead of the crowd. The banter is fluid and natural, and none of the characters feel out of place or like they are doing something the wouldnt...or maybe they are and thats part of the mystery.
I've said to much. If you are a fan of Joss Whedon, Horror Movies, or MOVIES in general. DO. NOT. MISS. THIS. MOVIE.
