This was my Kamen Rider series and the series that introduced me into Henshin Heroes and Tokusatsu.

This series is the shit and I stand by that.

Such a cool series.

Yup, the genre's ultimate rule-breaker. I remember reading an article at Henshin Online about how the fandom was was so split on whether or not Ryuki even deserved to be called a KR series, so that was my main motivation for checking it out. Now I just have to finish it.

A simple clip from Jeff and a fight with Kamen Rider Tiger was enough to convince me to check out this show.

My jaw dropped and I've been a toku fan since.

Did you guys know Tezuka/Kamen Rider Raia and Tojou/Kamen Rider Tiger were former Ultramen and Asakura/Kamen Rider Ouja was Changerion. :dance:

Yeah, if there's any one toku out there you could call the Japanese Highlander, it's Ryuki.

And right now the anime versions of both Ryuki and Highlander is My-HiME...:D

I saw Asakura as Changerion.. that was pretty fun to see a guy that I know as a mass murderer be a easy going good guy. :biggrin:

My HiME...definately on my list to download in the future.

Yeah, same here. I've just seen fansubbed clips so far, but I'm completely sucked in, man.

After watching I_Legend's new generation henshin clip, I immediatley fell in love. I absolutley love the Ryuki henshins and am now downloading episode 1!

We're up to episode 21 and it just got even more insane...this anime plays with your head big time...yeeeesh.

Zolda was definately one of my favorites. :anime:

It's a shame we didn't see these in the series. I wonder why they were left out. Only ryuki and knight those bastards got 'em. Damn you Shiro.

Yeah, really. Ryuuga would've REALLY kicked ass with his own Survive Mode.

The Raia survive is the best... beats the crappy Knight and Dragon survive modes :nono:

Those are all Photoshops I believe, except the Raia one which was part of a regular two-page spread in Uchusen Magazine, usually featuring CG versions of various Tokusatsu characters.

I'll never forget how there were actually some people who thought the Scissors Survive one was real. :laugh:

The only designs that was semi-true is the Raia survive and the one with GuldThunder as contract monster. It was Tamotsu Shinohara designs. The one with GuldThunder is if Yuichi Saitou contracted GuldThunder. Pretty much designs of his that were scrapped.

The Guldthunder one also looks to be heavily influenced by Henshin Ninja Arashi.

I say Ryuki's Blank Form or even Ryuga's black scheme would have been a better fit for Ryuki's costume design/color.

This was also my first entry into the Kamen Rider shows. I had SUCH a bad taste in my mouth from Saban's Masked Rider it was YEARS until I was even curious about Kamen Rider. Then I got a couple Sentai DVDs, and there was a preview of Kamen Rider: Final Episode...and for some reason I got REAL curious. I picked up Part I of Kamen Rider Ryuki and that was it....I was in LOVE! Even if by the end, Ryuki gave me a headache from the plot :laugh:

They should've used the Kamen Rider Blue design...I don't care if Blue looked similar to Odin...add a scarf if you wanted to be different...sheesh.

One can only imagine how much more damage and how many more Riders Ouja would have killed had he gotten a Survive Mode.

I guess the creator realise that also that's why Ouja never get the survive mode..or else... :mad:

Yeah I think he would have won the 13 Rider War.

Maybe I'm just making much ado about nothing, bu from a design standpoint, I always thought the other Rider that was meant to have gotten a Survive Form was Zolda. Look at Ryuki, Knight, & Zolda- their bodysuits are different colors (Red, Dark Blue, Green) whereas all the other Riders had already Black suits, like the Survive modes.

Yeah they could have atleast threw it somewhere in the 13 Riders Special.

Kanzaki Shiro would've been a complete moron if he gave Ouja a survive card. The Rider battle was Kanzaki Shiro's puppet show. He knew who to give survive cards so they wouldn't screw up his plans. He gave them to Tezuka and Shinji. 2 people who wouldn't fully use the cards to their potential because they aren't interested in killing others. Like for example Asakura was given the Ouja deck just so he could speed up the battle. And think about how many Odins there were. It was rigged. Even though Kanzaki Shiro fails in the end he sure as hell had a few aces up his sleeve.

Nontheless, if Ouja got the Survive and really wanted to win he would have. In a heartbeat.

Okay...I downloaded and watched the music video of all the 'New Gen Riders' Henshin clips...and it showed Alternative Zero in there. But hell if I can remember Alternative even being IN the Ryuki series. Anyone want to give me a rough estimate of what episode he appeared in, so I can go back and watch it?

Not sure exactly when this was, but both guys who became Alternate were killed by Tiger.

I agree, that suit was hands down the coolest looking one on the whole show. But I'm biased because I like the insect-looking Riders best myself.

Well, from poking around that site, looks like the episodes around the late 30's, early 40's...and since I don't watch anything on TV on Thursday nights...I'm gonna rewatch these episodes to see what all the hub-bub around Alternative is.

It's funny too, cause after reading about Alt. on that site, I can remember that part of the storyline, and all that stuff happening, but I just can't remember him turning into Rider Alt. in the show.
