Yeah! My friend was like "Jesus Ass-F*cking Christ!" when he saw that. It was a stunning scene.
You know what was weird? There seemed to be a lot of difference in power between the Shinzo Ningen. Casshern could destroy an entire robot army but he couldn't beat Burai (the red cloak guy) in a fist fight, even though Casshern had a power suit and Burai didn't. And the small little retarded guy got killed by an ordinary human. Figure that out.
-Master P
Burai didn't even need a power suit since he himself is a mutant with extraordinary power anyway :anime:....the small retarded guy... :shrug: hmm..something's wrong with him for sure... :anime:

Yeah. Alot of stuff that happens in the movie is sad. The ending could easily put someone in tears. Such an excellent and long movie.

Just a second ago.
Lotta questions at the end tho. Where'd the Lightening Bolt come from?
What happened to Casshern?
What was the deal with the Neo-Sapiens?
How did the director jam pack so much pure rule into one movie?

A movie that requires a lot of thinking and focusing instead of a mere enjoyment .... honestly, I'm still trying to figure out some questions out of this movie ... err .....:mad:

Welllll..
1. I have no damn clue about the lightning bolt thing. Honestly, I stopped trying to make sense of it. >_>;
2. Well.. he obviously exploded into a beam of light at the end. I mean, after what happened. And the messed up crap that was going down. I think it was his and Luna's way of "starting over".
3. Neo-Sapiens. Thats the part where you should go back and rewatch it just so you grasp it all better. The Neo-Sapiens believed they were creations of Man. Then they were hunted down and killed just because they were differant. So they believed that they were better and more tolerant than man. Thus they start this war. But in the end, they realize the doctor never got his Neo Cells thing to work. He harvested the bodies of the dead victims of that war (from the beginning) for his research in reanimating the dead back to life or some such. Then boom. The Neo-Sapiens realize they are no differant from humans. They were once the thing they hate.
4. Great music really helps lead a story, I always say. The music in this movie was stunning and really helped you get into what you were watching, if you liked the kind of thing you were watching. That and the bad ass action going on. And the heartfelt story.
=====
Bout time you saw it man! Actually I might be wrong on a few things. I havent watched the movie in a while. I really should pick it up again and watch. When I first got it I watched it like 8 times. Loved the hell out of it. A few really great moments (especially the one with the villains and Luna and Casshern in the forest) made me all misty eyed. (Thats what I like. Villains who actually care about each other. Villains with a heart. Guess thats why I loved SailorMoon so much.)
But yeah, like I said, I didnt fully grasp what I saw until I watched it a second time. Hell, when I first saw it, I wasnt sure if I liked it, but when I watched it a second time I realized I loved it. Its one of my favorite movies of all time. Its just hard to grasp the hidden story at first.
Alot of us Americans are used to having the answers laid out for us plain as day. "This is what happened and why." But in this movie, they never really do that. They expect you to sort of pick up on the clues yourself and piece it together by the end. Thats how I feel about it.

Oh great. This is gonna be one of those Asian movies that hurts my brain. Like Akira.
Are there cool fights at least?

The fights are bad ass for the most part. The story itself is easy to grasp on the first viewing. Like you can get the idea of it. Just like Akira. You got the idea of it and you understood what was going on for the most part. But it took a little deep thought to fully understand what you just saw. Its not too confusing but it can be.

On Topic: Bad news for US/Canadian fans, no release date for a DVD yet. If you all want, when it comes out you can send me some paypal, I'll order it for you, get it delivered to me then get it sent out to you guys. Only problem would be, it'd be Region 2. You'd need a multi-region DVD player for it... :disappoin

BTW, Keith, you were wondering where the lightning bolt came from? It was from the statue of Casshern. The one we see in the clouds at the beginning? When you see it later in the village Tetsuya visits where the kickass swordfight happens, it doesn't have its hands or the lightning bolt.
