I watched the first episode. I don't like it, prefer the original version. And besides the original had the man we know as KOUGAMI. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

So, question about the manga, how much is Blossom High School and Hibari shown compared to the Original show?

That was a fun first episode. Ohsaka gakuen closing down in 3 months does add a darker shadow over the show though. I enjoyed Kiriyama's performance as Nanba. Tokuyama as Himejima was hilarious, especially how he snapped every time his name Masao was said. :laugh:
The ending song's nice and the water fight seems a lot of fun

I like this version, in terms of characters they are much and much more truthfull to the manga.
The story is made up around the same concept though.

Yes the characters are truthfull, Sekime has glasses and Sano isn't a big douche.

I had never even heard of the original before, but somehow I got tempted to download the subed version of ep 1 of this series. Really enjoyed it and now im currently getting the old version :D yay me! however this is going to put a serious strain on my toku watching O.o

Yeah I think this time they got some of the characters down but story wise this was really bad.............like 90% of this was all new stuff they just aced just cause.

Wow. So I watched the first episode today. I really, really, really love Maeda Atsuko. But she really doesn't compare to Horikita. That's not saying that Maeda is a bad Mizuki, she certainly seems a bit more happier and less uncomfortable playing a dude, but I always found Maeda's acting to be kinda stiff.

Renn makes a fine Minami. They even look kinda similar. Pretty neutral on Aoi. I haven't seen much of him sans Beck, but yeah. I think he'll be fine as Sano.

Gonna keep on watching both versions to keep comparing. But this series has a serious lack of Subarashi.

Oh and Kashiwagi Yuki. All I can imagine her is being blasted by that fart gun on AKBingo, but yay for Kashiwagi being on Hana Kimi 2.

Even while watching Majisuka Gakuen, I seriously thought that Oshima Yuko looked too nice to play a Yankee. She's not a bad actor or anything, just too nice. But I think she'd make a good Hibari. I kinda wanna see Watanabe Mayu though, but that's just me being incredibly biased.

I'm sorry to say I wasn't particularly impressed with ep. 1... Maeda squeals like a girl even more than Maki did (if that's possible) and I find it completely unbelievable that she would actually be able to convince any of these guys that she's a dude.

I like Aoi as Sano just fine, though it helps that he's basically playing a completely different character from Shun's Sano. Renn as Nanba was good, but I can't help comparing him to Hiro with it...

The plot is completely incomprehensible to me, though I haven't read the manga, just seen the original Japanese and the Taiwanese dramas. Though if what Aoi is saying is true, reading the manga wouldn't help much since they don't seem to be following it too closely.

Here's to hoping I like the rest of it better, I'll be very disappointed otherwise. :disappoin

I watched it expecting to be an exact copy-paste from the original and I was pleasently surprised. And comparing this 2 first episodes with the original 2, I'm liking the new ones much better. In the original the action was kinda slow paced, now everything is more exagerated even anime-like and I find the episodes more dynamic than the original.
