There's a mission where, story-wise, the Original does attack the franchise characters. You don't play this out in an extended interactive sequence, probably due to engine limitations.
The SRWA engine has no problems handling route splits and allegiance changes in the middle of a stage. They could have included a stage where you only played with the original enemy faction vs the main team, but they didn't because that's just not the point of the game. No one is playing a non-OG game to get stuck playing only with originals.
Even in Alpha 3 for PS2, when you're playing as villains in the beginning of the story of one of the originals, the team mates are actually characters from the shows too.
I think Decade just generally tried to avoid exposition scenes. When there was exposition, they kept it very brief.
Decade's writing seemed to assume that most viewers wouldn't really care about why anything was happening if the scene as presented was awexome enough. So I really don't think anyone involved attached any significance to the AU vs. original stuff.
See, but explanations have nothing to do with that. I'm not saying that explaining the two sets of Riders would be fanservice and they refused it, I'm saying that letting the original guys stay around and fight would be fanservice, but they ditched that opportunity completely, choosing to just go with the 9 AR Riders for the final battle.
They wouldn't need an explanation. Just make Decade and maybe the AU Riders get beaten up too, and then let Wataru & co return in their final forms and join the battle from a dimensional wall out of nowhere. No explanations, just another quick fighting scene. Yet, they refused to do that even though they had at least one, possibly two actors available. Preferring, apparently, to just write them off.
Why did they do it? Because fighting alongside the AR guys makes more sense if you look as Decade as a narrative by itself... even though that just doesn't work considering what it is and what they had just done with those past characters in that movie itself.
I think that's a visible drive in Decade's creative decisions, noticeable since the Kiva World, which, of course, kept happening alongside, often out of place, fanservice. It was just an odd creative choice in general.
At this point, I'm just repeating myself... I guess I have nothing to add anymore.

the only thing I wish for is that the rumored hot actor for Goukai Black stays true & I'll be a happy Sentai fanboy!

You really think those four Sentais won't feature? If the teams show up, so do those female blues.
That's a thought. GoGoV, Abaranger, Gekiranger, and all series prior to Zyuranger only have five warriors (not even a sixth warrior who isn't a ranger, like BullBlack or Signalman). So the sixth ranger will have fewer transformation possibilities, unless they add extra members (which they could, Decade added new Riders to some worlds). Sun Vulcan definitely needs two new rangers, as it only had three originally.
I'm not sure how characters like Signalman, Ninjaman, & Gosei Knight will work, because they're mainly just robots with no actual identities. Plus I'm not sure how VRV Master, BullBlack, & Shurikenger will come into play, as even though they aren't robots, they never had any actual identities to show to us (correct me if I'm wrong on that part).
Sun Vulcan; they only had three rangers, & were an all male team, which means, about 2 Goukaiger members may have to sit out of that one (one of them being female, of course, & the other member possibly being another male/female).

These things are easy to write out of. After the girls are rescued, they transform back into their normal costumes for the finish.

Oh man, the more I think about this concept, it could be good or bad. As I said before, I just hope it does not end up like Decade (meaning no ending and having half of the series be pointless), but I also hope they do not pick children for all of their rangers in the way they have done with Goseiger. One or two, fine, but I want a red ranger that is around 23, looks it, and does not scream his head off every few seconds. Is that so hard to ask for?

While I doubt the "screaming Red" is gone for good, I can't imagine why you'd do that type of character in an anniversary show.

I'd prefer we stay away from screaming Red's for a while...please? Maybe someone like Akashi at least.

Four years ago we got an uptight red who was sometimes laughed at by his team members. Next year who knows.
Maybe a red that takes the job of overseeing past sentai's real seriously.

I expect GoukaiRed to, in some way, be derivative of Luffy.
Given how long One Piece is and how much Luffy's personality changes in that time, there's three or four potential personalities you could pull from that.
None of them would be screaming Reds, either.

they are actually, except Black (he's 19 this year) but even the locals thought they were all younger than 20. I dunno what's the issue with their looks. is it seriously a bad thing to look young even when you're in your 20s?

Akashi would be awesome. Regardless of what Shougo says, I think Akashi was an awesome Red that basically had been in the game so long, he could do a very dangerous job and enjoy it.

Maybe it's just my love for old sentai, but I'd love to see a core member of the new team die :sweat:
