UPDATE!!
-Another rumor popped up connecting the pirate rumor to the anniversary rumor:
-The Henshin Device will indeed be a belt
-The rangers can transform into past rangers by placing FIGURES of them into their belt.
The poster of this info suggests that the rangers don't actually travel at sea (at least to any extent of time), but act more like Diend in Decade- going from world to world/land to land in a Pirate-fashion, meeting up with old heroes.
So the heroes might meet old heroes. Maybe bring back some treasure(to go with the pirate theme?)

You know the whole belt/figure idea is a wonderfully absurd idea to promote the "Legendary Ranger/Final Form Ranger" line of toys, I like it and hope it happens. Also I could see them traveling by sea, but a sea of dimensions. What, Kamen Rider has a desert of time why can't Sentai have a sea of parallel worlds.

Using the reds as mentors wouldn't be a waste? Maybe it's just me, but...it's Henshin Hero. If they cameo as themselves...but don't Henshin...I might be as annoyed as I was with Decade.
Using them as mentors...would be a tad disappointing, I admit, but I think it beats recasting or just using suits with new voices or having the old heroes look like chumps compared to the current ones, if those are the options to try and avoid the old heroes "stealing" the new team's spotlight.
Are you kidding? I've long wanted a Sentai anniversary show full of returning heroes who henshin and fight once more -- and fight more than resurrected early Gaoranger monsters. It's a kick seeing the actors now do their poses and henshin call from back then. But I do think too much importance is placed on the idea that all that matters is the henshin'd suit. It's the people behind the mask who matter, so I'd like more focus on them if they were to return.

Go Time Maroon!
You guys are clearly forgetting about ShinkenSilver, MagiGold and JetRed.
Doesn't everybody know about GoseiGold?

You'll never get hired by Toei with that attitude.

Personally, i'd like to see a mix of colours for the anniversary series not just reds. Some of the best rangers were non-reds.
Anyhow, i was expected to read rumours but came upon 14pages of interesting posts.

These rumors are quite exciting, and I really hope they turn out to be true.
As I said on RB, apart of me has a feeling Saban and Toei are planning together. The Sentai 2011 team will be the 20th anniversary Power Rangers team, so this could be quite exciting if it true.

It's complicated. Sentai series often include references to real events of past history, and each show completely disregards the other, giving their own explanation about them. Also, of course, no Sentai series ever has any direct references to previous ones, aside from 2 or 3 of the earlier shows.
However, that incompatibility has been traditionally ignored by the actual crossover movies and specials. In those features, they always act like the different Sentai teams always inhabited the same world, even if sometimes they manage to go completely unnoticed by each other in spite of the giant battles. Also, ever since Abaranger, there has been explicit continuity between these movies.
So... yeah, they could easily go with alternate worlds, or they could set the new series in the crossover Earth and ignore that idea altogether. Sentai has set the precedent for both.

I was thinking sort of the same thing, like its strange they never noticed that there was a different group. It should be obvious by seeing the noticeable giant robots right.

That would be impossible, as some shows (like Zyuranger and Abaranger) outright contradict each other.

I think the Sentai crew just don't care about the contradictions and allow them to exist in the same world. There main audience (Five year old's) don't really look for plot holes.
That would be impossible, as some shows (like Zyuranger and Abaranger) outright contradict each other.
Dekaranger and Magiranger are also two good examples of season that contradict each other

I had that same feeling as well, besides Toei & Saban have always been able to work together without stepping on each others toes, unlike Disney.
How did they do that? I saw both of them.
Both were set the year after each other in Japan. However, during Magiranger all traces of aliens were gone. All traces of the SPD squad were gone. The giant bases and mechas were never mentioned again. It is really simple when you watch them.

I've never thought the Sentai shows take place in the same world. The versus movies aren't really canon, and are pretty much just for fun -- there's a scene of Aburera flipping through one of the Abaranger books Toei sold, for crying out loud. I don't understand this fascination of having every show take place in one world.

Because it's awesome!
I have a feeling even if this year has past reds coming back people will still find a way to argue about this.
And the Deka Magi thing. Aren't all traces of last years sentai always gone by the time of the new one?

Hopefully and hey maybe it does make sense and we are not looking at the connections.right?
Sentai is a much more consistent than Power Rangers. So they are perfectly fine with the way they are doing things. That whole shared universe thing is defiantly something that only PR should be doing
