I would be more interested in Inoue's return to Sentai had Kobayashi's return to Sentai not been so.... underwhelming. Nevertheless, it would be nice to see a Jetman-esque show next year.
Better than letting Inoue touching a Rider series again (even though it is rumored that he has done a few episodes for OOOs already :sly: )

Let's hope it's an Agito-esque episode.

Actually the fandom is more forgivable with Inoue doing a Sentai series again over a Rider series since it has been about 10 years since Inoue wrote for a Sentai series I believe
He last wrote for TimeRanger.

Yea, same. Though, who was the one that dropped the ball in the middle of Shinkenger? It wasn't inoue right?
Nobody dropped any balls in Shinkenger. :loltongue:
Inb4 "this is gonna suck, run for the hills!!" :confused2
If this is true then it's good news. But Inoue was also originally rumored to be the head writer for Goseiger aswell and that ended up not happening.

Gokaiger Crew rumors
Producer- Utsunomiya Takaaki
Screenplay- Yamatoya Akatsuki, Inoue Toshiki
Director- Kanazawa Shoujirou
I wouldn't get ready for a return to Jetman based on this info alone, guys. Utsunomiya Takaaki was Inoue's producer on Kiva. I can't find any other credits for him in English-language sources. Oh boy!
I also can't find any English-language sources listing credits for Kanazawa Shoujiro, but I'll keep looking. I'm sure he's just done stuff that will only be listed in Japanese sources.
Yamatoya Akatsuki did write episodes of Shinkenger, which seem to be his only substantial live-action credit (in English-language sources). Otherwise, his writing is mostly in anime. He seems to do two types of series, adaptations of shounen manga and original work that is mostly kids shows with a few eclectic entries in the mix.
His original (or mostly original) written-for-TV writing credits include Digimon Savers (aka Digimon Data Squad), Heroman, Kaze no Yojimbo, Ojamajo Doremi (first series), Simoun, and Transformers: Galaxy Force (aka Transformers Cybertron).
Yamatoya's adaptation credits are pretty heavyweight. He's adapted series including Busou Renkin, Buzzer Beater, Fullmetal Alchemist (first series), Gintama, .hack//Legend of the Twilight, Inuyasha (first series), a couple of Kinnikuman series, Naruto, Soul Eater, To Love Ru, Yakitate!! Japan, and Zatch Bell.
He's also adapted the video game Blue Dragon for anime, and the novel/book series Ginban Kaleidoscope, Rune Soldier Louie, and Yume no Crayon Oukoku.
Yamatoya's involvement, if confirmed, would incline me to believe the rumor that Toei wants Goukaiger to be very similar in tone and feel to One Piece. I could buy Inoue not being familiar with One Piece and having his own ideas about pirate heroes, but if you're the guy who adapts Naruto and Gintama for TV there's no way in hell you aren't very familiar with One Piece.
Plus how much toy-line Bandai decides to shove into the series will affect the writers approach to the series as well.

I would expect Goukaiger to be toy-heavy if this staff information pans out. I don't see why you bother to get Yamatoya involved if you don't want to sell tons of toys.
Most of his kid show work was on series that supported pretty extensive toylines. If anything he might care more about working toys into the story coherently than Inoue does these days.

New rumors from Dukemon's site:
http://tokuinsider.blogspot.com/
I wish he mentioned the original source though. It'd be useful to know if it came from someone that has been reliable in the past...
If this rumor is true it means they don't plan to explain the clusterfuck that is Sentai.
I was really hopping that each sentai took place in different worlds:(

Even disregarding the rumors, there's no way an anniversary series, at this point, isn't going to be toy heavy, and I like the look of this rumored staff if that is the case.
I'd rather them aim to coherently use all the toys instead of just releasing them. That was my one-and-only problem with Kiva really. You had most of the arsenal show up once.
And while I think Goseiger does a bang up job of keeping all the formations useful (except for Hyper GoseiGreat), there could definately be a more well thought out approach for Gokaiger.

I was actually wondering about the mecha today actually.
My thinking was, if we're going to see the old mecha, does that mean the old combining sequences will be used from the archive? And my reason for wondering that was because Sentai is filmed in widescreen, while most of the archive stuff (save everything from Boukenger onward) is in 4:3. Which leaves two options:
1) They take the old footage and crop it to fit the screen
2) They make new model or CGI sequences
Also, what about the henshins? Are they going to take those out of archive, or redo them?
OK, we'll find out in half year, but what does everyone else think?Gaoranger onwards, just edit the existing CGI like they did for AkaRed's Gao henshin in Boukenger vs Super Sentai (and like Power Rangers did for Wild Force). Mecha footage could just be cropped. Timeranger and earlier, which didn't have so much CGI, would need to be completely redone to fit today's standards. Plus some teams didn't have a proper henshin sequence (Zyuranger for example, just a red helmet form up - if red wasn't present, it was just a flash of light) - Battle Fever J has no henshin at all and JAKQ's is impractical.

Well, the last Super Sentai Inoue worked on was Timeranger. There's no reason to assume we're going to get 50 episodes of disagreeable assholes dicking around just yet.
I'm really more concerned by the Kiva producer's name being thrown around. The producer is the single most influential creator on any given show and I can easily imagine a Super Sentai series inheriting everything that Kiva did wrong.

Utsunomiya was only one of the sub-producers of Kiva, though. However, he was chief producer of Shinkenger, so -- run for cover!
I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really hate the idea of Yamatoya as main writer, though. The guy's done nothing but junk for Sentai.

Man, I can't believe he's not credited on any English-language sites. Where are your OCD Wikipedia editors when you need them?
(Oh, wait, they inexplicably don't care about the producer credit...)

What's Yamatoya done besides Shinkenger?

What's Yamatoya done besides Shinkenger?
Magiranger -- episodes 32, 37, 38, 45, 46
Boukenger -- episodes 13, 21, 22, 27, 28, 34, 41, 42
Shinkenger -- 14, 16, 29, 36
Goseiger -- 7, 8, 13, 14, movie
He also wrote Boukenger VS Super Sentai, which I thought was just about the crummiest, non-event of an anniversary "special," so...I don't know if he's a guy who should be given an entire anniversary series.

Oh dear. I don't think all of those episodes you mention were bad, but Boukenger vs. Super Sentai left me pretty cold. I tend to love crossovers just out of principle, so you've got to miss the mark by a wide margin to end up making something I don't like.

I would say give the guy a chance normally, but Boukenger vs. Super Sentai? Wow, that one was terrible.

Not too thrillied about Yamatoya. Oh well, there's always OOOs to watch if Goukaiger sucks. When will Sentai get out of this rut?
