My idea, so far, is that there were nine pieces of eight, each with it's own powers, that, when brought together, opened a portal to the Dark Waters. One Pirate, Doderu, tried to control them all, but their owners used the pieces to seal him away from all time.

In the present, A father/ son team, along with their associate & guide, discover the resting place of the pieces, only to discover that their associate is the reincarnation of Doderu's daughter. She releases him & his most trusted general, who possess the father & guide. The son accidentally activates one of the pieces for himself & escapes, with four others.

I wanted to focus more on an indevidual story & save the whole ranger team-up thing for a quick mini-series near the finale, where Doderu gets the pieces & draws them all into the Dark Waters, where they must learn their own power from their predecessors- each one giving up their powers to return the new team their powers.

More than one red?

I just got a bit of info from nastymike2004 whose over in japan for 2 weeks.

he's heard something about a team of reds that combine into past reds.

so it'd go red1 red2 and so on.

he's also the guy who told me about the taku bird that became the extreme power up for W recently.

it'd make more sense for the reds to become past reds but the majority of the cast would have to be male.

unless they did 3 reds
red 1 becoming the first decade of reds
red 2 becoming 11-20
red 3 becoming 21-30
and have the return of the past reds played by their original actors. that would cut back on a huge amount of cash to hire actors.

so you'd have years 31- present played by there original actors.

throw in akared and it's party time beach vollyball

that just leaves the females of the groups but i have no idea how they could pull that off.

6th would become any 6th. kind of like Shurikenger in reverse



Red 2 would be the 6th ranger

Red 3 would be the 7th ranger

it would be cool if it sounded something like this for years real pirates have been mistaking for decades as criminals. But really they are good heroic citizens of justice who attack evil pirate clans that have taken the valuable goods of there ancestors. The family of 5 who s father was the great pirate of Japan whos ship got sinked when they were young and he has been missing ever since go on a mission through time from the time annex a machine there father created her each gave them each a special compass with a key. They all dreamed of being pirates the time annex was created to stop the evil piarate clans all over the the galaxy from past future and present to see a brighter day of more pirates. There father who was the last pirate on earth set out on that adventure the day of disapperance to find the pearl of faith that was stolen from his great great grandmother . years after his disapperance the anniversary of his death is here and reckless activities are taking place in seas and oceans all over the world tital waves and whirl pools it seems all the pirate clans have come back to finish up his family it is them they know what they must do use the time annex to travel through time in search of past heroes before them to help in defeat all pirate clans and retrieve thier father.

Update from Dukemon

One, until I hear otherwise, I am going to romanize Goukaiger, as Go-Kaiger. This is just based on the spelling of the katana, and it's likeness to Go-onger. That said, here are the latest rumors:

-The series will have definite influence from One Piece.

-Our heroes are humans from another dimension, who can use something like "Ki". The setup is described as Gingaman-poi (i.e. Gingaman-ish)

-Our main robot is composed of a "mothership" in the form of a Pirate Ship (forms the main body), with 4 animals forming the arms and legs respectively.

-One of the bad guys will probably wear an eye patch

-One of the bad guys has a hook on his right hand, in the fashion of Captain Hook

-Bandanas are worked into the helmet designs for the rangers

Sounds like the Gingaman villains thrown to the extreme.
