Intersting ideas.
I couldn't agree more on your fourth point.
My main concern was tat if I pushed people a certain way, they would just quit or be douches and fuck uo the RP.
As for Chaos, in all honesty I haven't been able to do what I want with him mainly baecause I haven't had a chanche too.
More or less liek you said a lot of limelighting (some by me, but Ive been trying to get better at not doing it, but then people complain how I don't do anything)
He had a chance to be interesting, a chaotic neutral that at the begining seemd like a great idea, until everyone else wanted to do the same, now even though he was the first to be like that, he just seems like he's ripping off everyone else.

There's only one problem with the 4th point though, that's there's too many characters in this RP to try and think of something for everybody to do...that and all the little subplots.
Again, it'll help whomever's in charge of the world if the person has some sort of idea or direction they wanna take there character in that world...

4.) Be a good director. The director/mod whatthehell you want to call it should have something neat in mind for everyone and should guide the story and plot along with guiding the players.
This is really my complaint with the whole deal. While I understand that some characters have a storyline carrying over from the previous thread, a lot of us are kind of left in the lurch to fend for ourselves.

The whole point is that you can work with the director of the world to get your character's own personal story to mean something.
I'll use my character as example.
I want to have a big meaningful fight for him to do his first transformation in. I consult the director/mod of that world and work with them on how I can get this angle going in that world. I want it to mean something, not just be thrown in there to where it kills the pacing of the story, so we toss ideas around on how best to implement it so it goes with the flow, not against it.
A bad idea would be something like:
"So I want my character to just completely own all the main Shocker Officers in one fight right smack in the middle of this emotional and character driven story arch you're doing for this world."
Not only does that idea bury what could be four great villains, it also just makes no sense and has no real big meaning other than "I want to handjob my ego."
The idea is, if you can fit in some MEANINGFUL subplot that works with the main plot and not against it, work with the director/mod of that world...if you just want to go with the flow and help solve the main conflict in the world, leave what your character needs to do in the hands of the mod/director and focus on HOW you're going to do it. That's role-playing/acting, the how it gets done/how you react, not what you have to do, that's directing.
Personally I think it could work, and if nothing real big is on the table for that world, break people off into groups as suggested earlier with different ways of reaching the same goal.
Another example, using that small idea I had for Cutey Honey:
One group is going for action, directly taking on Panther Claw/Daishocker, the other group is doing the detective work, find out where the girls are, why they are being kidnapped, who are they targeted, etc.
Only thing that needs to be done with that is having everyone chose which "Team" they are on and not jump back and forth trying to be the center of attention.
Planning and good direction is all that is needed to clean this RP up...our characters can still be the assholes they usually are, just with a much clearer purpose on what needs to be done.

Screw rescues. We're all about destroying shit.

Alright
Dai Shocker destroys the world
But HJU takes the blame for it. Does that work for everyone?
RagnorokKing
10-29-2009, 07:54 PM
Takes th eblame from who?
We destroyed the fucking world!
Who's gonna blame us, the people who are dead?
Or maybe the people who live, ON ANOTHER WORLDS AND HAVE NEVER HEARD OF HJU OR RESCUE FORCE!
And don't go destroying shit yey until we all have talked about what were gonna do.
Like half of our crew havent said anything yet.

If you're going to do that, ask yourself these two questions.
1.) What are you going to do short-term with this angle?
2.) What are you going to do long-term with this angle?
I mean destroying a world sounds like a big deal, so it should be a big deal, not just some flash in the pan quick-fix. Make it mean something

Well
I had it so that my Dekamaster character was investigating the dimmensional disterbances. I figured that if he hears HJU is responsible for destroying a world, it'll cause him to set his sights on them again.
I also figured that dai Shocker could spread rumors about HJU destroying the world. Sorta like the whole calling Decade the Devil thing.

On the topic of dropping some worlds I discourage it because some people may have ideas for those worlds for example, for RPM, I was thinking that((SPOILERS FOR RPM))
Nicholas might go on an assassin mission to "Destroy the Destroyer."
On How to end Rescue Fire's World, Here is what I am thinking:
Shit hits fan, which already happened
Rescue Heavy is made and goes out into battle
And finally Rescuecluster (Nickname for the massive combined Rescue Mecha) saves the world.
You fill in the details.

Interesting, but I think alittle more outside-the-box is in order.
The Deka character could work, but in all honesty, Afro's character is more the inter-dimensional investigator type. Though I can think of an angle where Daishocker might manipulate the SPD...you just really got to think about where you want to go with that angle and how far you want to go with it, cause the idea has legs, just don't cut them off for the sake of having your Deka join the group.
I want to throw this idea out there, it's more of a quick-fix, but with lasting emotional and mental consequences.
A dimensional rift or some such opens in the middle of the city but instead of something coming out of it, it's more like a quick Black Hole, sucking tons of things in. The property damage and loss of life is staggering, trying as we might, HJU and Rescue Force/Fire is pretty much powerless to do anything about it. After the hell of it, we all meet back up in the D-Liner/Doran/whatthehellever all rather down in the dumps. We talk(yes, actually discuss something rather than just wondering blindly.) and actually realize just what we are up against and just how much is at stake...a moment of bonding and unity if you will.
In terms of planning, this idea buys us sometime to really plan the next world rather than just showing up and aimlessly wondering about. It's like an intermission, just a meaningful one where all of our characters can find some common ground and maybe relate to one another slightly.

I'm been thinking. HJU should be disbanded along the way. And I don't mean the transition from the first RP to this.

An interesting idea. And no doubt there's enough factions out there for people to split up and join whomever.

Hiro's world....
I'm gonna give everyone the final rundown of Hiro's world when the time comes. In fact, I need RK to help me with the final process. I know I had some sort of idea before, but I just had a good idea while I was working. So I'll spoil everything when the right time comes. Actually I might just do that soon, but I want everyone to be ready, everyone will have roles and everyone will fight someone at their equal. =)
EDIT: Ok.. I'm gonna spoil it just a little bit right now...
One of the new ideas that will take effect is that everyone will be split into different areas of the world in pairs... the arrangement of the pairs will be random... and only those who have been posting by that time comes will be participating... anyone who's rejoining will be "jailed" and will ave to find a way out. Each pair will also have a "boss" to beat before we get to the main threat that is... Kuro.

Here's what I have planned for Kiva's world, for the most part it'll happen almost like Decade-Kiva's world:
Basically, the world isn't exactly the paradise Will created:humans are reduced to second class citizens, kept mostly as pets and food for the Fangires. When we arrive in this world, Will doesn't wanna get anyone involved, and tries to fight the fight the Fangire on his own...however, his emotions will get the best of his him, and he'll get his ass handed to him.
SO it'll be HJU's job to smack some sense into Will, trying to get him to see that this is one thing he can't do all by himself. After we get Will back to his sense, we'll meet up with a resistance group lead by Mio, and comprised of the Kiva cast. They've been trying to restore Will to power ever since the new King took over.
Mio has a plan to take back the castle, which involves HJU splitting up into two groups: one group takes on a human slave camp and act as a distraction, allowing a separate group to attack the castle. Dai Shocker is also gonna have a role in this world:
Having infiltrated Kiva's World, they have a secret lab set up where they run experiments on the monsters of this world, being the Fangire. The new Checkmate Four that took over is going to have connections with Dai Shocker.
Mio however is displeased with how things turned out and feels her years of service and devotion to Will has been all for nothing, Dai Shocker comes to her with an offer for her to join them, and she agrees, becoming Apollo Geist's second in command.
This is all stuff I've had planned since the RP started(Refer to Will's bio all the way back on page 3) So it's stuff I WANT to get resolved by the time this RP is finished. It's Will's whole reason for journeying: To make himself strong enough so he can take back the throne, and get back and those that betrayed him.
Like I said in my earlier post: I plan on making Kiva's world go by quickly, I planned on making it go by quick since the start.
The stuff I have posted will happen assuming if HJU does end up disbanding at some point in the RP...if not we could have it so that they band together, displeased with how things turned out.

Hopefully my Skull Man subplot will be done better. Unlike the time when Skull Man appeared and his identity is revealed, he ended up quickly forgotten. >_>
