Other Side of the Mirror

With the story of Kido Shinji fully told, the curtains of "Kamen Rider Ryuki" has drawn to a close. But what if these people, like Ren Akiyama, Takeshi Asakura, Kitaoka Shuuichi, and namely Kido Shinji didn't exist? Instead, new people have taken on their roles as hesitant participants of the Rider Battle created by Kanzaki Shiro. Wait, what if Kanzaki Shiro didn't exist, or Kanzaki Yui for that matter? What if two others took their place, one creating the Rider Battle and the Mirror World all for the sake of the other, his dear little sister?

There's always the other side to things. The two sides of a coin, the two sides of light and darkness, and the side of reality and the side of the mirror.

It's your turn now. Take on their roles and bend this reality however you see fit. After all, this is our story inside this realm of everlasting mirrors. When one story is finished, another is told.

Fight until only one survives.

At night, a woman sat down infront of her mirror. She was putting on make up, probably ready to go out on a big date. Noticing her mirror was rippling, she placed her finger on it. As she pulled back her hand, a trail of webbing had followed it. "Hm?" she muttered and looked at the webbing curiously. All of a sudden, she let out a scream as she felt eight extensions from the mirror pulling her toward it until she disappeared, followed by the sound of a banging door outside in the hall.

On a crisp cold Saturday morning of February 2, 2009, a moped ran through the streets of the Setagaya ward of Tokyo. "Shiiiit!" yelled the driver as he sped through some red lights. Luckily, he wasn't caught by any policeman around. He passed a billboard that said, "ORE Journal, where the truth keeps the world alive." Soon stopping infront of a building, he entered it, climbing the stairs and entering a small room filled with computers on three tables, set up in a circle. "Ohayo!" the man exclaimed as he took off his blue jacket and red scarf, hanging it up and taking his place at the computer closest to the door.

An older man, but probably in his thirties, snuck up behind the male and got him in a headlock. "MA-MO-RUUU!!" he roared, lifting him off his chair. The man known as Mamoru began struggling and gagging, gasping for air. "You're late again! The hell is wrong with you, you good-for-nothing?!"

"Editor-in-Chief....EDITOR-IN-CHIEF....I can't breath!"

The woman at the far computer, a younger, younger than the chief, but older than Mamoru, and beautiful woman stood up, taking her bag. "Editor-in-Chief Kagami," she said to him as she tapped his shoulder, "I'm off."

"Ah, get a good scoop, Ai-chan!" As the woman named Ai left, a younger woman with glasses, younger than Ai but older than Mamoru, was placing Ai's picture among the staff list. "See that, Mamoru? Ritsuko Ai is a hardworking reporter and gets the job done. You're always late."

As Kagami dropped Mamoru back onto his seat, the poor man was breathing heavily. "Man...give me a break, Editor-in-Chief..."

Then the Editor-in-Chief threw a ruler at Mamoru, hitting him on the head. "I've given you too many breaks! You either get off your ass and do something productive, or I'll fire you! Now go! GO!" In a panic, Mamoru got up from his seat and grabbed his things, heading out of the studio. "Geez, that useless kid...Hotaru, make my picture look good!" Hotaruko looked up from her computer, then chose a horrible picture of Kagami.

As Mamoru readied his moped, he had realized something. "...Wait a second...why did I just leave...aw man, I did it again!...Well, I guess while I'm out here, I'll find a scoop too." His cell phone began to vibrate, so he opened it; it was a text from Ai. A nearby apartment had a disappearance, and she doesn't have time to get there. "Yosh! Time for my big moment!" Then Mamoru put on his helmet and rode off onto the street.

Little did he know that within the reflective surfaces of the buildings, a red Chinese dragon was following him.

Girugamesh's break down could be heard shouting as Tsubasa's ringtone went off for his alarm. Getting up was so hard it was a strain on himself now. Getting up Tsubasa yawned and stretched looking down at his nightstand and seeing the Crab deck. Tsubasa smiled and then he took off his dirty clothes and grabbed a towel heading for the shower. Getting into the shower the tired man turned the water on hot with just a little bit of cold and he was awaken from the steaming water hitting his skin. Tsubasa then got out and dried himself off with his towel and he then got dressed for school. Just wearing a white wife beater with a nice bottom up shirt with a pair of jeans Tsubasa got his book bag and he then checked the messages on his phone and he got one that said," Tsubasa I don't know what it is but lately we don't spend that much time together please call me back I want to know what's wrong." While going to the bus Tsubasa called his boyfriend Daisuke and he said," Daisuke hey I want you to know I'm fine it is just I've been having a ton of test and with my job and studies I've been really busy." Daisuke sighed and said," Alright but you know what the second i find out you're cheating you're a dead man to me." Tsubasa sighed and he said," I don't know why you think I would give up someone like you for anyone else. Look I swear I have just been busy studying though please trust and believe i am faithful to you Daisuke-chan." Daisuke then said," Ok well you better get to school. Why not we go to lunch together somewhere halfway between are schools ok?" Tsubasa nodded and said," No problem we'll go to that sushi place that we meet alright?" Daisuke smiled and said," Yep I was thinking the same. Well I hope you have a great day." Tsubasa smiled and said," You to Daisuke Chan, well I love ya." Tsubasa then hung up and got on the bus.

Daisuke started to just look up at the sky and he thought," What am I going to do if something happens and i can't make it." Daisuke then got out and he heard it the ringing noise that was always heard when the mirror monsters showed up and Daisuke was already prepared.

Shun Shirogane approched the house, four hot pizza boxes were stacked in his hand. He rang the door bell, and said nothing as the woman came the exchange was made, the pizza was handed to her, and the money was handed to him. It was the last stop on what was probably the most degrading job he had ever he closed his eyes, wondering what Eri would do if she were to see him in this position.

She'd probably laugh, laugh like a hyena. Shun sighed deeply, and walked down the steps, finally he could change out of this stupid uniform, and back into regular street cloths. He couldn't believe that it had already been a year sense the attack happened, a full year of fighting monsters in the Mirror World.

He couldn't believe it at first, a world between the mirrors, where vicious and strange monsters roamed, as Knight he was a little shaky at first but quickly mastered his Advent deck. He contracted the very monster that put Eri in this situation she was in, Shun always thought it was an...irony of sorts.

Close by, he could sense something, another Mirror Monster. Ditching the uniform, Shun got onto his bike placing on his helmet and flipping down the visor, reving it he sped away to where he sensed the Mirror Monster.

Eri...I'll get you back...I swear it He thought

As the moped reached a two-floor apartment, an older man came to meet with Mamoru. "Mamoru Kudo of ORE Journal," Mamoru introduced himself properly to the man. The man shook Mamoru's hand and brought him up to the second floor. The nameplate on the fourth door to the left had the name "Shoichi Sakakibara" on it. The manager told Mamoru not to touch anything, and Mamoru promised he wouldn't, entering the unlocked door. To his surprise, the room was very dark and dusty, as if no one was around for days. Windows, mirrors, even pots and pans were covered in newspapers. Infact, anything that seemed to cast a reflection was covered in newspapers. "This...is odd..." Mamoru stated as he placed his black wallet on the desk, unknowingly placing it on top of a black tablet.

He touched the newspaper on the window and began to take notes. "Sakaki...bara...Shoichi...missing. Room...void...of life. Connected...to mysterious...disappearances..." He then turned to his wallet and picked it up, once again unknowingly taking the black tablet under his hand. All of a sudden, he heard a loud roar. It wasn't that of any animal he had ever heard, but it was loud. He stumbled a bit and fell through the window and onto the balcony, glass and newspaper under his back. "Itai!!" he yelled out when his head hit the bar. "That hurt!" slowly, he stood up, but began to hear this loud ringing. It was deafening, piercing, like a siren. Slowly, Mamoru looked up and saw a nearby building's reflective surface began to ripple. "What...is that?"

Out of the building came a red dragon. It looked like a chinese...mechanical dragon, red with flames. It flew toward Mamoru and roared, opening it's mouth. "Ah....ahhh....AHHHHHHH!!!" Out of instinct, he held up his arm to protect himself, though what would that do? In his hand was the black tablet. The black tablet had shielded him from the dragon's attack, though he was unaware of it. The second attack by the dragon was completely repelled, and it sent Mamoru flying back. It created an unseen shockwave that caused all the windows on the apartment to shatter as the dragon returned and disappeared into the surface.

"Owww....what was that...." Mamoru muttered and looked up, seeing a bunch of people glaring down at him. "...Oh boy..."

Close to where Mamoru was, a young woman wearing a gray business suit, carrying a black leather purse walked down the street, she didn't notice that close by, a Dispider was stalking her...not that she could've seen them anyway. She stopped, when her phone began ringing reaching into her purse, she began digging through the contents until finally she picked up her phone "Hello? Ah! Hideki-san!" She said a smile on her face meanwhile, the Dispider following her came out from the mirror, and began to creep slowly towards her "Yes, I just got off of work...yes! I'm still up for tonight...alright...I'll see you then...it's been such a long time, has it?"

The Dispider reached out, and grabbed her the young woman let out a scream A male's voice could be heard on the other line"Hello?! Haruka? Are you there? Hey! Haruka!"


Shun rode his motorcycle to where he sensed the creatures, but he sensed something else.

He stopped his bike "What is that...?" He thought suddenly, he heard a woman's scream and that snapped his mind back to the current situation. He quickly turned the corner, and saw the Dispider trying to drag the woman into the mirror. He leapt into the air, his bike seperating the woman and the monster. The force of impact forced the Dispider back into the mirror.

The woman was shocked, she looked at the man that had just saved him "Are you alright?" Shun asked the young woman, slowly she nodded "Hurry and run!" Shun said, the woman was still a little shaken up, she nodded again and slowly got up, she began running.

Shun whipped out a pair of sun glasses and placed them over his eyes...there it was again, the strange feeling that he was being watched. His attention snapped back to the Dispider that was getting away.

Taking out his Advent deck, Shun brought it towards the mirror, as he did a belt flipped out and onto his waist. He tossed the deck into the air, catching it with his left hand "Henshin!" He cried

Knight's image flipped out in all directions, he appeared as Knight, and leaped into the Mirror, chasing after the Gelnewt.

After much apologizing with the manager and Ai by his side, Mamoru was dragged to his moped. "This is why Editor-in-Chief calls you a good for nothing!" she snapped at Mamoru, smacking his forehead with his wallet and placing it onto his hand. "You're always causing trouble! You're lucky that he decided to drop the charges. Financially, we'd be in trouble if we had to keep cleaning up after you." With a huff, Ai returned to her car parked among other cars.

Mamoru became a little depressed by this turn of events, knowing that he failed to gain a scoop. But on his moped's mirror, he saw something very strange. A giant...spider-like monster running through the streets. He looked around to see that there was no spider running around, and the streets were filled with people. But what did he see? All of a sudden, he could see the spider running through the reflections of the cars. That was something you don't see every day. But it seemed to be heading for Ai's car. "Ai-san...AI-SAN!!" As he ran to Ai's car, he tripped on his shoelace. His hand, still holding the black tablet, was in the air, touching the car next to him. It went through, along with the rest of Mamoru's body. Mamoru found himself in a dimensional rift of mirrors, falling for what seemed like forever as he screamed out.

His body had changed, now wearing a gray full body armored suit as he fell out of the dimension. He groaned, holding his head to find out he's wearing...some sort of helmet! And his suit and armor, where did he get all this from?! Looking up, he saw that the streets were void of people, and the kanji were switched around, as if they were reflected off a mirror and written backwards. "This is strange..." he muttered until he heard the loud skittering of feet. To his left was a large spider-like monster that he saw in the reflections...but it was real! Real and standing right in front of him. "Oh...shoot..." he muttered and started to run when the monster's front leg tried to stab at him. "Not good not good not good not good!!"

Shun came out of the Mirror World, his Ride Shooter stopped in front of the two Dispiders. The capsule-like pod opened up, the seat extended slightly and two connectors detatched from the belt.

"Where do you think you're going?" Shun said, bringing his sword close, he got into a Kendo-like fighting stance

The two Dispiders looked at him, and charged towards him. Shun dodged their attacks, striking one of them with his sword and kicked the other one in the back.

The Dispiders came at him again, but Shun continued to block their attacks with his sword, and weave his body in and out of their attacks. Coming from behind, he struck the Dispider twice with his sword "Is that all you got?!" Shun said cracking his neck. As the two Dispiders fought with him, to the right he noticed Mamoru, fighting with a giant spider monster "Who the hell is that?!" He said, this moment of distraction was what allowed the Dispider to strike at him.

Shun was pushed back by the attack "You're really starting to annoy me!!!!" He shouted grabbing a card from his deck

Final Vent was announced, Shun began running, as he did Dark Wing flew from behind, Shun leapt into the air, Dark Wing attatched itself to his back, forming a cape. The cape flowed in the wind, and soon enveloped itself around Shun. Shun let out an "URRAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" and he dropped towards the Dispider.

The attack struck the Dispider, knocking the 2nd one away. A floating orb stood where the Dispider remained, it floated up only to be snatched away by Dark Wing.

The other Dispider ran, but Shun had more pressing matters to attend to, he ran towards Mamoru who was fighting with the Giant Spider-like monster, he dove foreward pushing him out of the way of an incoming attack from it's two giant pincers. "I have no idea who you are, and frankly I don't care" Shun said standing up, he didn't even bother to wait for Mamoru to thank him "Get out of here, and stay the hell out of my way!" Shun said drawing a card from his deck, he inserted it onto his Dark Visor

Strike Vent was announced, Dark Wing flew over head, dropping a lance-like weapon in Shun's hand, and he charged towards the giant spider.

Lance weapon in hand, he slashed at the spider, the spider countered with his pincer-like weapons, Shun dodged out of the way and countered with an attack of his own

Mamoru in his new form watched the person fight the Dispider infront of him. The other one had run away, but this one wasn't fooling around. "Wait a minute...what's going on?! Hey!" He watched the warrior fight. He looked like some kind of black knight. He even had a similar black tablet on his belt with a golden symbol. It looked like a bat. Mamoru felt around on his belt and found it to be a smooth surface; not an engraving or anything. But the black knight fought by drawing cards from the tablet. Maybe Mamoru can do the same.

"O-Okay!" he exclaimed and pulled a card out from his tablet. It had the picture of a very thin sword. He looked at the gauntlet-like structure on his left arm and pulled it down. "I guess this is what you do, right? I don't exactly get it, but..." Inserting the card, he pulled back the gauntlet.

SWORD VENT!

The same thin sword flew down from above and into Mamoru's hand. "Yosh! Iku ze! Aaaaaahhh!!!" Charging full speed at the Dispider, he ran past the knight and slashed at the spider, only for it to break on the spider's front leg. "Ah! It broke!" Before he knew it, the spider had "kicked" him away and sent him flying at the knight.

Tsubasa sighed as he heard the ringing and with that he got out and hurried his way over to the nearest mirror he could find away from everyone. Sadly that was a gas station bathroom. Tsubasa held his Crab deck out and he watched as the belt appeared around his waist. Tsubasa then touched his left shoulder with his deck and then said," Henshin." Taking the crab deck Tsubasa slid it into his belt and his armor formed around him. Tsubasa hand changed now into Kamen rider scissors. Getting into his Ride shooter Tsubasa drove off towards the creatures location.

Arriving at the location Tsubasa saw a black knight with a bat like appearance and a blank rider. The rider had just been kicked aside and Tsubasa knew he had to help. Hurrying out of his ride shooter Tsubasa opened his Visor and he took out his Strike vent card and he then slid it into the visor and close it. Scissor's visor then said," Strike Vent." Holding his left arm out the Scissors Pincer attached onto his arm and as the spider went to slam his leg into the blank rider's gut Scissors caught it with his pincer and he then threw it back and jumped up slamming the dispider in the chest. Tsubasa then looked down at the blank rider and he said," You're a fool to enter the world without a contract monster, but well do not worry I'll protect you from this creature.

"Eh? EH?!" A contract monster? What was that? And now there were two of them! A copper warrior and a black knight! Standing up, he slapped the back of the copper one's helmet. "What do you mean a fool?! I don't know what you're talking about in the first place, a contract monster!" Then he turned to the knight, pointing at him. "And you, don't say things like 'you're in the way' or something like that!" But as he scolded the two, Mamoru heard the sound of a roar, the roar from before. Looking back, it was the red dragon from before! "Oh sh-" he gasped and threw himself at the copper warrior, dragging him down as the fire balls shot by the dragon went past them. "Why is it following me?!"

The spider saw the dragon and immediately knew it was inferior. It tried to escape by climbing the building's wall, but the dragon caught up to it and engulfed it in flames, eventually eating it up. "Oh, ew..." Mamoru looked up to watch the dragon hover the three of them. "Okay, monsters...a reversed reflected world void of any people...and...you guys! What's going on?! You're all...fighting and stuff, I don't get it!" THe roar echoed again, and Mamoru felt a chill down his spine. "And...I don't wanna be around for IT to get ME!"

Tsubasa could hear the fear in the man's voice as everything was going on and he said," You must stay calm it won't get you. The dragon was only getting you attention along with defeating the spider to show you its strength. Now look in your deck and find the contract card. With that Contract card you will have made a pact with that monster and with that it would give you newer and better weapons along with better armor. Look in your blank form now you are a weak rider, but with the strength of a contract monster you will become stronger then you are now." Tsubasa took out his Advent card and he then said," This is my contract monster Volcancer if you look at it I used to be like you nothing but a blank slate, but you see when i made a contract with him my armor changed and so did my weapons."

Tsubasa then said," Hold it out towards the dragon and you will form that pact. And you do not have to fear me hurting you, but you should be more worry about the knight over there, because well I don't know if he is a evil rider or not. You've been joined into a war between the riders and there is no way out of it all I can say is you need to find allies kid and especially if you're good, because well the evil ones will hunt you down if you say you're good. If you would let me I can find where you ported into and talk to you about this more in person, but as of now there isn't much I can do or say other then trust me."

Shun watched the dragon, devouring the Spider-monster...not even paying attention to what Mamoru had to say. He turned back towards Mamoru, as the dragon began firing at them, he ran "That dragon is dangerous, stay away from it." He said, when the coast was clear he walked towards Mamoru "That dragon is now targeting you...wherever you go, he'll find you. I suggest you use this." Shun said passing him along a blank card, Seal was written on it.


He turned towards Tsubasa "As for you...I'll come for you and your beast eventually." He said, he walked passed them brushing along Tsubasa's sholder as he did.

Walking towards one of the mirrors, he walked through it returning to the real world.

"That dragon..." He said a grin crept on his face. "He'll make a nice meal for Dark Wing." He said. Walking towards his bike, he placed his helmet back on and drove off.

Tsubasa nodded at that threat, and he then just said," I want you to know Knight that I do not wish to kill you. If anything I want the riders to work together to stop the monsters and whatever is causing them to come into existance. Though if stopping you takes another evil rider down then you will be defeated." Tsubasa then looked at the blank rider and he said," The Dragon will probably devour you if you do not contract with it. I do question my strength against it but well after this is over you and me will have a long talk about what is going on and about how we'll be a team."

[Kaji Motomiya]

"What? WHAT?!" Mamoru was even more confused as the Contract Card was given to him. "I'm not getting this! I just want out of here!" He looked at the glass where the one the copper warrior called him Knight walked into and ran to it, slamming into it and falling back. "Owww!!" The dragon was circling them like a vulture. Soon, it set its eyes on the copper warrior. "Watch out!" Getting away from windows and slammed himself to the other, dodging the fire balls. "Oh man oh man..." He looked back up and hit the car behind him, soon falling through it. The Contract Card fell onto the ground next to the car.

Mamoru fell out of the car's reflection, looking at himself. He was normal again. Letting out a sigh, he saw someone driving past him. It was a motorcycle, and thsoe things were always obnoxiously loud. But something about the driver seemed familiar. "Man...this was weird..." He saw that Ai's car was gone. That's good, she was safe. He proceeded to walk to his moped and put on his helmet, getting ready to leave.

Getting up from being pushed out of the way Tsubasa sighed and said," Jeez he really has no idea what he is in for, but now it will be harder then ever to find him for real. Tsubasa then looked at the dragon and he said," Hmm that will do some good." Walking over Tsubasa picked up the Contract card and he then placed it in his deck to save for when he ran into the man again.

Tsubasa then ran over to his ride shooter and he drove back to the gas station bathroom he had entered in. Leaving the bathroom Tsubasa began wandering around looking for that dragon and he knew it would lead him to that man. Though when he looked up he saw the dragon and it was pointing at a man on a moped and Tsubasa thought," Jeez I was that close to him?" Walking up Tsubasa grabbed the handle to the moped and he then reached into his pocket and showed the man his deck and he said," Well it is nice to see you in person." Tsubasa smiled as he knew that the man on the motorcycle was knight and he said," You shouldn't trust the bat rider he wants both of us dead."

Looking at the man who showed him a tablet similar to his, Mamoru looked up and slid his goggles onto his helmet. He let out a sigh and leaned on his moped. "Listen, I really don't want to do anything dangerous, okay? I'm just a journalist." Then he got up onto his moped, driving off while trying to ignore the dragon. Knight...a tablet with the Crab...no, these things aren't tablets if they house cards. They must be decks. So he has a deck, but what use was it? As he stopped at a stop light, he took it out from his pocket. Should he get rid of it?...No, it protected him before. It's too valuable...for now.

Kayo Rei sat at a coffee table in a little cafe sipping her tea. She was busy pouring over documents looking for any lead, any lead at all. "Onii-san" She thought frowning "Why'd you leave me?"

The waitress refilled her tea but said nothing. The woman had seen Kayo's temper when it came to being disturbed in her work. Lifting a newspaper articile Kayo scanned it. At the last moment her attention was brough to a mysterious murder that was unsolved.

Though she hoped it was a fluke Kayo had the feeling she dreaded, a mirror monster was behind it. "What are they?" She wondered before pay for her tea and leaving the cafe. Getting into her car she began to the drive to the address.

(OOC: Hopefully she'll run into Mamou)

Mamoru continued to drive along the road until the moped began to slow down. "No no, not now!" he exclaimed. It seemed that it ran out of gas. Groaning slightly, he started to trudge along the side of the street, pushing his moped with him. "That's the third time today...you know that gas is expensive these days, with the economy and all." Soon, he stopped at a cafe, just when a car drove off, leaving an empty spot to park his moped. Once he put it in the empty space, he leaned on the railing by the sidewalk, looking at the blank tablet. Slowly, he pulled out one of the cards from the tablet. It said Seal on the card.

"Seal?" he questioned. It looked different than the Contract Card that bronze knight gave him. "This is just too weird..." he muttered and rubbed his forehead. His phone began to ring again, and he answered it. "Hello?...Oh, Ai-san!...Ah, no, I'm just going to get coffee, why?...Eh?! One for the whole staff? But I don't have that much money!...Hello?...Ai-san?...Hello?...Great..." Once he hung up, he dropped his head and let out a sigh. "This day is just weird...ever since I touched this thing..."

The word "contract," said to him by the copper warrior wielding the "Crab deck," as he thought it to be, rang in his head. If he made a contract with the dragon...but how do you do so in the first place? "Aahhh...this is all too confusing!"

The door to the small cafe opened, the bells could be heard chiming. "Welcome!" The young, peppy waitress said. "Please, right this way." She said

Coming into the cafe, was Shun, his sun glassess still on. He walked towards the table, his hands in his pocket. "What will it be?" The waitress asked.

Shun removed his sun glassess and looked at her, he wanted to say Go away, you're annoying me. But he didn't, he merely said "Coffee, please...black..." He said "Coming right up!" She said

Shun watches as the young woman leaves, and Mamrou enters the Cafe. The young waitress brings him his coffee, and Shun sits there letting the scent of the warm, dark brew envelop him. He takes a sip, and when he was done, he pays for his coffee and stands up walking towards Mamrou "Still trying to make sense of everything?" He asks, quickly flashing his Knight deck before placing it back in his pocket.
